Please post any wheel questions in here. We're getting 2 wheel questions a day, often asking the same information...
Can I fit (insert tire size here) on the (insert wheel size here)?
I dont know. Go look for yourself. Tirerack.com lists tire specs for each model of tire. Search for the tire size you think you want and see what tires come back from the search. Then click on specs. Youll see a chart listing all available tire sizes. For each size, a rim width range is provided. For example, Dunlop SP 9000s specs are here: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.jsp?make=Dunlop&model=SP+Sport+9000 A 225/50/16 tire can fit on as narrow as a 16X6 wheel, or as wide as a 16X8 wheel. A 275/40/17 tire can fit on a 17X8.5 wheel up to a 17X11
But each tire is different, and they all have different specs. Here is a BFG drag radial spec sheet: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.jsp?make=Dunlop&model=SP+Sport+9000 A 255/50/16 can fit on the stock sawblade (16X7). But if you look at a 275/40/17, the rim width range is 9-11, not 8.5-11 like the Dunlop SP 9000
What is the stock bolt pattern?
5X114 (4.5)
What is a wheel offset?
http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/tech/offset.htm has some basic information on wheel offsets. The stock sawblade offset is positive 35. MKIV wheels have a positive offset of 50. If you want to run a 10 wide wheel you should at least have a 45 offset.
Also check out Steve Jarvis' wheel fitment page (designed for MKIV):

My bro and i were messing around yesterday, we put some Racing Harts on his car with no rubbing. He's running with Tokico springs i believe. Here are the sizes:
Fronts 18x9 (48+?) 265/35/18
Rears 19x10 (50+) 285/30/19
The rears were pretty maxed out, anything with a smaller offset than +45 will probably not work unless you cut the fender. The fronts slighty touch the fenderlining when the wheel is at full lock, but no rubbing is audible on a U-turn. I have some pics if somebody wants to host them.

You can buy Work wheels from www.bulletproofautomotive.com They are a Work dealer for the US. They also can the more rare SSR JDM wheels like the professors.
One comment I would like to add to this wheel sticky deals with the MKIV 17" wheels. I bought a set shortly after buying my MKIII. I was pleased with the overall look but very displeased with the front offset. I run 245/40's on the front and have rubbing issues at full lock. Also, I personally think they high offset makes them look funny because they sit in so far. I chose to rectify this by purchasing a set of 15mm offset spacers from H&R. This solution worked out very nicely and the wheels sit as 35mm wheel now. They fill in the fender gap and dont look funny at all anymore. I have no rubbing issues anymore at full lock and none under hard compression. I am running H&R springs so I do have a pretty agressive drop. Also, my car wanders a lot less than it used to. I didnt think an offset change would affect suspension geometry that much, but who knows. At any rate, if you buy MKIV wheels, I would suggest at some point to try this mod. If you are weary, go to Pep Boys and buy a cheap set of front spacers to try and see how you like the look. You wont be disappointed, trust me. I personally really like the MKIV wheel look on the MKIII because they are agressive but retain the OEM look. I've always been a proponent of the "Less is More" philosophy so the MKIV wheels are just what I want.
Thanks.

The bad SF links were because the threads were made before the server change. I fixed the links though so they should work. If it comes up in any other old thread you dig up -- just add "forum/" after "www.supraforums.com/"
As for the stock wheel weights -- they are listed in one of the weight reduction threads in the FAQ, but you can also see a list of OEM wheel weights here:

Yes and no. Aside from the obvious differences between chromed and not, and the front-to-back differences, there are also casting changes that happened on later model supras. I remember seeing the thread a while back from a guy who ordered a couple new ones and compared them to his older mkiv tt ones. But they all are the same dimensions and will fit.

Just to tac on abit. I beleive he said the newer version ones were ~2 lbs lighter per rim because of less/diffrent casting material. I'm not realy sure, but I think that's what he said.

Instead of having all the "Will this sized wheels fit with this sized tires" questions, how about we get some answers on what the max is we can fit to end all these questions.:)
With 17's, 18's, etc.
How wide of a wheel can we run?
With what sized tires?
What offset?
With Suspension mods and without.
What are the clearance issues, if any?

:wtf: Obviously if you put a 5x100 bolt pattern wheel on a supra, it WASNT a 5x100 wheel. If the bolt pattern is different the wheel doesn't go on.

Right now my ADR Cyphers 18x10 +35 out back are only on 245 (they came with the rim). I'm dropped about 2 inches on some tein coilovers.
You'll want to roll them if you're dropped at all. Even the 245 are way close to rubbing.

You can get Work wheels from Autobacs USA or 5zigen USA. Both authorized dealers for Work wheels. www.importhookup.com has a deal on Works. When I was working at Autobacs, I beat importhookup's prices, but I no longer am with the company, so I doubt they'll still beat prices, but go there and please do some research ahead of time, so you know what you're talking about when you throw out prices.

oh, and i forgot to ask one more thing....
What makes a rim have more of a lip...negative offset wise...would that be the 35mm or 45mm offset...
i am so confused...are both of the numbers "negative" in a sense...the one closer to "zero "0" " being the one with the largest lip on the rim or what???
I asked this because i want a big lip on the rim...maybe 1 inch or so...i am a BIG fan of big lips...only on cars though LMAO :p

NEVER MIND...i just called up tirerack.com..
Blake told me the offset itself DOES NOT affect the size of lip the rim has....basically the offset makes the hub flange thinner or wider...35-45mm in my choice respectivly.
so you could have 2 17" buddy club P2 wheels side by side...one a 35mm offset and the other 45mm offset and the rim lip would be the same depth..1 inch or so...
its just the rim spokes' hub flange thickness that is thinner or wider to accomodate differnt sized wheel wells...
I GET IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so what offset should i get now? 35mm or 45mm on these?

I thought the offset had everything to do with the lip...
the offset determins how far inwards or outwards the lugs are placed inside the wheel.
to my understanding 0 is dead center, -30 is 30mms farther to the back of the wheel from center, resulting in a huge lip, and 30 is 30mms farther to the front of the wheel resulting in a small lip.
so deep dish wheels are the result of a negitive offset(Huge lip), a 0 offset(big lip), or a positive offset that is less than half the wheels size(smaller lip).

I've got a 98 n/a with a veilside c1 lkit on it and I just got some 255/45zr 18 michelin pilot sport's for it. I had 225/40zr 18 p zero's on it before and liked them, but wanted to try something new. The tires are fine in the rear, however in the front the driver's side tire rubs the plastic on the front fender wall when I turn, but it's not touching the kit itself. Has anyone else had this problem? I am going tomorrow to reduce the tire down to a 245/45zr m.p.s. I can't go any lower in diameter because the kit scrapped really bad with the 40's. The rims are not deep dish. Do you all think that 245/45 in the front is enough to keep it from scratching? Your info is greatly appreciated.

Im looking at getting some much needed spacers. I found some 5.114.3 ones with a 60.1mm center bore. Whats the center bore stock? Will these fit?

I have a set of 18" polished aluminum wheels and tires off of my 2007 Pontiac Solstice from when I upgraded. They are just laying around not being used and I was hoping I could put them on the Supra. I think the bolt pattern for the Solstice is 5x110 and the Supra is 4.5". Is there a way that I can change the hubs to one with a bolt pattern that will fit, or do they sell an adapter of some sort that would work?

Ok, Im about to order a set of CCW Classics for my MK3..
Its lowered, pulled and rolled fenders.
Now, iv had 19x10s (37 offset) and 18x9.5 (22 offset) and they fit. The 18s were perfect.
My question is, what is the lowest offset, but widest rim i can run out back in a 17"? Im goin to order 17" rears, 18" fronts. The fronts will be 9" wide, but id love to do the most aggressive and widest tire out back.
Any insight?
