How much do you guys think it would cost to get a RHD Mk3 imported to the US. I think it would be cool to have a real RHD, 1jz powered, digital dash havin knight rider.

there are a few places in south fl that have them in lots waiting to go to the islands to be sold.4k will get you a 2.5r but you cannot drive it on the street unless you have some tricks or friends and the dmv.Search and there is a thread awhile ago about the cars.

the RHD isnt the problem.. In Japan the cars have completely different saftey laws, and regulations. so the cars haveto be corrected for the US

Only way to import one is to have them crash tested or certified by Toyota that they are the same as US models (which Toyota won't do), and you also must go throug emissions testing, and NOT by your local state emissions either.
I looked into this, it's VERY difficult. You'd have to buy at least 3, two to crash test and one to drive. Plus getting through the EPA would be very difficult, and possibly involve custom work done to the 1JZ.

Jarco sold a fully loaded 1jz R on ebay a while ago for like 7500. maybe you can get lucky and pick one up like that.
