Hi i think the reason our UK times are so slow is because we need Drag Radials, we can't buy these over in the UK....
Do these need seperate wheels, or can you put the drag tyres on stock Supra 17" wheels?
How much roughly do these cost? And the most important bit, would you ship to the UK?
Please say you do LOL

I have been working with a number of you guys to get your 1/4 times lower where they should be based on your mods. I agree your tires are a major problem.
Yes I can get you BFG 275/40/17 drag radials that fit on your stock 17" wheels, no problem.
And you know by now I ship to the UK! :)

Think Paypal it'll have to be mate. Will these improve my 1/4 mile times alot? These are my mods so far, what times do you think could be possible with Drag Radials and a good launch?
Veilside Ti Exhaust
De-Cat Pipes
Apexi Induction Kit (inc cold air box)
Blitz SBC I-D III
Boost Cut Controller
I havn't attempted to struggle and fit the boost controller yet, but when i do how much psi should i run?

Drag radials can knock up to 2 tenths of a second off your 60' time which translates into about 4 tenths total maximum.
You should run 18psi on pump gas. You can up it to 22 or more on race gas of 100+ octane.
De-cat pipes - so you still have the stock size downpipe on your car? You should consider a larger downpipe like a 3" and get rid of your 2.5" totally.
A full BPU car on drag radials will easily run mid 12's and I've seen them go a lot faster than that.
Thanks,
Dusty

I think my downpipe is 2 1/2 yeah, made by Chris Wilson in the UK. Would a 3" one make that much difference? Who makes 3" ones?
I just need to somehow install my Blitz SBC I-D 3, how hard does it look? haha

Hi Dusty, i've just bought some 2nd hand Drag Radials from a lad in the UK, he was told he's get a few laps out of them. Reckon they look ok for a few Drag runs till i get some shipped over from yourself?
There Yokohama ones, they fit onto the stock 17s aswell...
Heres a pic mate, what do you think?

I don't know who makes a 3" DP that fits a J-spec. You are J-spec right? A 3" should make a big difference if you have an exhaust to go with it!
The ID III is easy to install as long as you have a basic understanding already of how to install a boost controller. It should have a Supra-specific diagram in the book.
Thanks,
Dusty

Those definitely are not drag radials. Drag radials have tread and look like a street tire to the untrained eye. Those tires you pictured are well worn Street ET's. Be VERY careful on those tires as they are very slick and it is difficult to drive with them. You can easily put your Supra in the wall on those if you are not ready for how they handle!

Dusty, before i buy these, are they good for Drag Racing? These won't be used on the street, just at the track for 1/4 mile runs.
There Racing slicks arrarently, £35 for the two. Worth it?

They are excellent for the drag strip but be very careful, they drive different than street tires.
Very cheap for the pair, try them if you want, just go slow at first!

Nice one, thanks dusty, i'll let you know how they perform!
The price works out about $70 for the pair, he gets from from Germany, a race team uses them for a few laps then sells them to him!
Will they cut my times down by alot? They sound mad lol
I'll have to order some Drag Radials soon, tyres need replacing in a week or two

Yes it is a good price, no doubt there. Just go slow, it is a different way to drive. Yes it can decrease your time significantly!

Paul has a UK spec car Dusty, same exhaust flange as your US cars.
So you may get to sell him something ;)

Confirmed then, it will all fit the same. The 3" will no doubt make you more power.

those tires don't even look like drag slicks??? they look like raod racing slicks, which they probably are since there yokohama's...i would'nt think those would even work properly for drag racing. jay

They aren't going to give him the best time possible, but they will let him practice on a different type of tire. For the little money they cost I think he should go for it and get used to the feel.

Plus they have to be better than my current 17s? I'll be ordering Drag Radials soon but for now these are ok to practice on....
Plus i'll get better times than stock tyres
