Larry,
I plan on ordering a kit through your company in Jan/Feb 2005 (before the trip to TK2K5!). I already chose the kit I want from you (somewhat due to basupra) , but I'm concerned on the lead time for a full kit with a 4"MP/DP setup? Is it usually a month, 3 weeks or what?
Also, do you require a partial payment on the kit before it is shipped? Or do you charge the customer when it officially leaves your shop?
Thanks.

I recently ordered one. They took $1000 deposit. The rest has not been charged yet, but I assume it will once it ships.
The ONLY complaint I have with SP is a guy name Bill. He apparently is in charge of shipping. He's been telling me for 2 weeks my kit is ready to ship and he's shipping it tomarrow... guess what still hasn't shipped. I just talked to him this afternoon. He said he didn't know why it hadn't shipped but he would get it out today and call me with the tracking number. It's almost 8pm and still no call....
SP over all is excellent. Need to work on their shipping guy, or get a new one. I wasn't the only one complaining according to a guy I talked to at SP.

The kit is here or I have tracking numbers. Not sure what happened at SP, but Bill called twice now with tracking numbers and a status report. My opinions of Bill have greatly improved. This has also been my first experience with SP. Very pleased with the goods.
Thanks SP.
Back to the origional question. Kit took 8 weeks to get. Once ordered they put $1k on credit card. Once I had the first tracking number (2 shipments), the remainder was charged.
Total cost was exactly as quoted.

my personal opinion on this (but i am probably the most patient guy in the world when it comes to business). Assume worst case lead times. So if they tell you 4-10 weeks. Go with the 10 weeks. If it is at your door before hand. Be happy. If it gets their by week 10. They are still within their time frame.
Also. Instead of bitching an moaning on here that it is late or what not. Why not PICK THE DAMN PHONE UP AND CALL SP DIRECTLY??? DURRR. :p
