Where to get Toluene? I went to orchard and they were saying they do not have it and people need to know why I want it....

Large stores don't carry Xylene or Tolulene anymore, because it's used to make Crystal Meth.

I buy mine at Vista Paint. I paid 6.43 a gallon (4 gallon minimum) today. They keep raising the price. It sucks!! I want to buy a 55 gallon drum, which will be much cheaper.:cool:

Where can you find the info on how much Tolulene you need to make a desired octane?

xylene is 117 octane and toulene is 114.

you just use basic math to find the octane you want.

say you have a 16 gallon tank and it currently is 1/4 full.
so you have 4 gallons of 91 octane.

add one gallon of toulene at 114 octane.

91+91+91+91+114 = 478

then divide by the number of gllaons...
478 / 5 = 95.6 octane

just keep adding in gallons of toulene or xylene until you get to the desired octane.

Nope. It's part of gasoline already, you're just adding a larger percentage this way.
