I have been told that the 4th gear Hub is worn and needs to be replaced.
Problem: When shifting into 4th there is no griding or any problem going into the gear. Once you tap the gas however it will pop out. It does not go into N it is kinda inbetween N and 4th and you hear some Rattling. Note, This does not happen every time. Maybe 40%. The other 60% it shifts fine. I also noticed, if it does pop out and I push the clutch again without touching the shifter it goes back into 4th. Is the Hub the actually problem or could it be something else?

Anyone know if there is a person/place in NJ area that could fix this problem.

Thanks

I don't think SPI still in bussiness as they did before, most operation moving in Arizona, and they work on only very few cars.
Look to have someone good to check my 5 speed trany in NJ.
I think I due to the new clutch at least.
Is "ExtremeMotorWork" know MK3 SUPRA and honest people?

Ranger498, I hear you about SPI, and I knew they still open, but when I spoke last time with Hubie (who is owner) he told me that he will not take cars from the street, unless its exceptional case, like show car, or friends and he will be more in sale bussiness. He build my engine and did many other thing on my SUPRA.
I guess he just get tired of me:)
Thanks for the info about XtremeMotorWerks, I will go talk to them.
The problem is now, I need to drive my car for long time to hit this vibration. Its an such a hard case to come see a mechanic and can't explain whats up with the car. I.am still trying to understand what kind of noise is that

i've taken my car to many shops in nj. i don't think SPI is worth your time unless hubie worked on your car. usually, he has other guys who work on it and they don't know what they are doing. they couldn't seem to work on my car and when they did they didn't put everything back incorrectly...that was almost 1.5yr ago.

i brought my car to xtrememotorwerks less than a month ago... let me just say carl knows his stuff. i highly recommend him.

it's nice to know the shop you are bringing it to... the owner has a 1300rhp supra, 1200rhp nissan 350z, and his other toys :) that he himself built and race with impressive times AND he actually works on your car.... unlike other shops.

my88itch, I am happy that we have the same point view about SPI.
Hubie and Mike Miranda, very experiance guys. Problem is that Hubie is not the one who work on cars in most cases and won't admit and fix whats gone wrong after "kids mechanics" did the job, most of them just learning there.
I dump there many grands and I have the same bad experiance , I wasn't happy about the job at all, and the bigest problem is when I went back for many fixes and adjustments I hit the wall of resistance.
Well its done deal, I am not going back there, I have my share of shit from there.
P.S. We should met there, if your car was at SPI 1.5 years ago.
That the time when my car sitting and waiting for service after BHG.
I remember some MK3 Supras there sitting for long period of time.
It was white mk3 (Sadik from Queens ,NY), black mk3, silver mk3 (end up there as a donor car)
What is yours?
Here some images from back at that time, my car behind Hubies's Supra

nofear6235,

yeah, i recall seeing your car and many other mk3 there. i'm surprise they are still open and ppl go there. it's a terrible shop. no wonder they don't work on cars anymore. my car was the black mkiv with the sp74 turbo and bomex wing.

i'm glad you like xtrememotorwerks.... i just wished i found them two years ago.... i would have saved thousands and lots of headaches.
