Vancouver side of the forum seems pretty slow these days so just thought I'd say hello. :p

Add your greetings if you want.

p.s. I took some pictures a couple days back; it'll be the last ones with stock wheels on... Can't wait! :D I guess this could also be a "recent pictures" thread.

Hey there.

Are you the guy I saw on HWY 1 trying to race me ?

Duane

I drive a white Supra. I actually live in BBY as well. ;)

LOL!~ I know wut your car looks like, man. I wouldn't dare to step up... Well, actually I'd race any fast cars, I like the challenge and I like seeing just how much faster they are. But to answer your question: no it wasn't me. I haven't seen you on the road yet, some day tho. ^^

p.s. Are you talking about my Supra or WRX? If it's the WRX then it might have been my little brother. lol. He likes the challenge more than me. However, he DOESN'T know anything about your car, lol. The result would have been funny even tho my WRX is a Vishnu Stg2. He would have been scratching his head all the way home! lol. Later,

190,000km when I bought it, little over 210,000km now.

Hey Jeremy > you mean bad flow I asume.. What turbo are you running now?

I have the new clutch in now as Dave helped me out today (also Don) Grinjack and Vansupra. (Thanks guys!)

I have to say that the 3200 lb pressure plate is a lil heavy on the foot but not to bad. The new HPF clutch is nice so far :)

Ya the flow of it is so bad, I will bring one with me to the next meet. It is hard to belive that I did 335whp with it. I'm putting on the old C-7 and running about 20psi I hope, we will see it is getting rebult right now. I have just started the custom manifold for it and have a lot of work to do in the next few weeks. Then I need to get past the 2bar MAP sensor so I can run more than 1 bar on this thing. I'm also doing a biger intercooler as this one will only be good to 450hp and I would like to do more than that in the end. Also need to do the clutch next to hold the power.

Jeremy

LOL thanks guys, I hope to have it running in the next few weeks and only running low boost as I only have 440cc inj. in it right now so about 10-12 psi. I have some 550cc inj I'm going to put in soon and then its time to tune it and see what it will do at 15psi for now and I think that is all I will need for the street. The C-7 is only going to be in for a short time as I'm going to go with a GT40R as soon as I have some in stock i.e. next Jan or Feb I hope.

Then its time for standalone so I can use the dam thing and new wheels and paint(finaly)

Duane what clutch do you have in the Supra now? I need one to hold about 500-550whp for now, and I know the stock one will not hold :D

Jeremy;)

upgradedsupra

Something that will hold 500-550 "for now ;))

What power level are you going for? If OVER 600 I would go with what I have

RPS 3200 lb PP and a bronze 6 puck disc from HPF (HorsePowerFreaks) I got a good deal both.

Duane

If you are wanting 500-550 MAX then the 6 puck RPS will be good also. The thing is that this clutch I have in now is very slippable. MUCH MUCH ! better than the one I had before. I hated that thing in traffic. I haven't really been in traffic to test this out really good but I am positive it is better than the last:)

Ya there is nothing like having a 2.5L 8.3-1 comp. motor and no turbo:D

I have a secret with the manifold and you will have to wate to see it and when all of you do you will like it I think, and hope. I hope to beable to put any turbo on it when its done. I know when I'm done as far as I know I will have the fastes highest WHP 1JZ in town. :D Then agan I think I'm the only 1JZ on the road each and every day, lol so it a race with my self. Here's a little info about my car.

1987 Supra Turbo:
Pearl White, one dent and a little rsut on passenger side fender,
Sawblades UGH!, stock, stock, stock.

I shimmed the wastegate. My turbo leaks oil but seems to still work but I am sure not up to spec. All option exceot leather. Targa top. I picked it up from the orig. owner (59 yr old lady!) for $3000. I figure it's a good deal. Oh ya it has 196,000 k's.

ruggs
11-25-2004, 04:06 PM
Yeah, I am going to fix the leak soon ( I haven;t really driven the shit out of it yet). I figure it must be the oil line underneath but I could be wrong. If it is that what could it be that is leaking? Is it just a gasket or is the line fucked? Is it a hard line or a soft line? I have owned lots of toyotas but I am a definite newbie when it scomes to turbos. Ay help would be appreciated.

Also, my fucking dome lights don;t work. I did a search but I checked everything, the fuse the bulbs, the conections and all seem fine. I wiggled all the connection in the on position and not even a flicker. ANy ideas?

Actually yes. This seems to be a problem specific to 87s. Mine is the exact same, (and IIRC Randy aka becauseican had the same problem). However with mine if you smack the rocker switch the lights go on.

When will your car be ready anyway? I am going to that car show this weekend. I wasn't planning on it but since my wife already paid for the ticket months ago i figured I'd go. You going?

Thats cool man I'm glad its starting to come together for you finaly! I think if you go with a bigger turbo you NEED to go with a ball bearing turbo. The BB turboes are so much fun totaly diffrant than the normal turbo's as far as spool. I'm going to have two turbos to chose from one the C-7 and then a fast spooling GT3040 when I have it done it will take me 20min to change them from one to another. :D

Thats cool your car is going to be in a nother mag. When I get my car done I would love to get it in one, just so I can show my kids that at one time I had a cool car. :p

For the IJZ guys,

How are you getting past aircare?

Turbo Drifter
11-27-2004, 12:49 PM
I have no idea, I think I'm going to drop the car right down on the coilovers and just do a idle test i.e. no NOx test. The nox is the only thing that will be a problem with the 1JZ as it has no EGR valve. If I have a big problem then I have a friend that can help me with it.

I'm going with a single turbo and 550cc inj. right now so I will see how it does in a year when I AirCare it.

Jeremy:)
