No....I had a turbo 95 Firebird and I ran open downpipe and I had 15% on the side and 5% in the back window and NEVER got pulled over for either over a 5 month period lol......I have a friend thats a cop and he measured my tint with his little meter and it came out 14%

I've been pulled over twice since 1997 for having illegal tint. Once two weeks ago by a state trooper but he let me go with a warning.

They tend to give you a hard time with tint if they pull you over and can't get you on anything. They’ll pull that illegal tint… (e.g. one time they got my buddy on bald tires. lol)

Well I was in my beater, and the guy that owned it before had 5% all around with the front windshield tinted, so I wasn't surprised that I got pulled over. My supra has 5% also, but I haven't had any problems with that car...knock on wood.

I've never been pulled over for it, but once I was pulled over the cop gave me a ticket for it on top of the tickets I've had.

This is BS.. because I have 20% all the way around which is legal.

Jacksonville cops = gay

On all my cars Ive always had 20 or less which is illegal and Ive never had trouble for it, at night time I primarily drive with the windows down though.

I actually know two people that go by Johnny B.. one in Orlando, and another in a frat here in Jacksonville. So I don't know which one youre referring to.

i also don't recognize the name.. but whats up man. You need to hit the jax meets if your here locally.

5% all around, and 20% on entire windshield. ALWAYS put the windows down when a cop is around, just in case. Don't need to give them an excuse...

this is correct, keep em down, and they can't "Legally"make you roll them up to test them. And the law is more like 25%. I got pulled on South Beach in my 3KGT, and the tint in that once was pretty dark, but by that time it was purple-ish, and the tester still hit me with 15%...they too let me go with a warning (after flashing military ID that is)

It's 35% around the country but not sure bout the 20% thing.... - the few states that think they are better than the federal government and do their own thing.

.Even though I live on Long Island, I live in Fl 1/2 the time as well so I can keep my FL tags.. NY insurance is insane..

I also remember it being 35% on the front windows...which is SO useless with this crazy florida sun.

How hard is it to see at night with the front tinted? Or does an HID kit clear all that up.

I stumbled upon this site and found it to be the most helpful, along with the post by:
"suprahead" "at night time I primarily drive with the windows down though"

Keeping the windows down at night is almost a for sure way of avoiding being stopped for your tints...
