Now this I want to see! Will they give it a go at the dragstrip and does it have a stick or auto?

The primary purpose of this car will be to R&D the power producing parts. Meaning dyno queen. I am sure that it may hit the track but I would tend to expect Saad Saad equivelant times out of it :)

And Z's are not known for their drag race potentioal compared to other cars. That rear suspension geometry is not for the dragstrip at alllllllll.

we got a maserati biturbo not to long ago here at the carlot. It was actually a fun little sleeper, but still typical italian 80's junk:)

How about the 1UZ-FE transplant into a mkiv?
We saw pictures posted a while ago and now nothing has come up about it.
I was really interested in this too.

You guys going to use an AEM on the 300ZX? I think they have it just about ready to roll and would probably appreciate some additional testing.

There is nothing wrong with the suspension on the Z. The problem for the first couple of years has been the drivers. With in the last year or so there are a few Z's putting down some good horsepower numbers and some really good 60' times. This year should be a better year for the Z's even though it's a few years too late. Quite a few people have drifted away from "the normal off the shelf" Z tuning parts and went with some custom upgrades.

Yeah, there's nothing wrong with it.

Yeah that's the same suspension I am talking about. Nothing wrong it. One issue is not doing burnouts at a high enough RPM. i have went through all the things people "think" i should try to eliminate the problem. What worked for me was doing burnouts in second gear. No wheel hop what so ever! It took me a while to deal with it or should i say learn how to get past the wheel hop, but its a done deal now and i have stock bushings in the rear end again. The delrin bushings helped none what so ever. The subframe spacers helped slightly.

Really, how many passes have you made with your Z?
I have two of them, and the only wheel hop I get is on the street on street tires. It is a problem on the street, but soon as I put on a set of ET Streets, or ET Radials and head to the track, I have zero wheelhop - on stock suspension.
SPL makes solid subframe bushings which help, but with big power, on street tires, especially with larger wheels, wheel hop is going to happen.
