I have been building a sub box to fit in the spare tire well and will no longer be able to have my spare tire with me. i plan on taking my car on some long trips this summer and came across the idea of run flat tires? does anybody have them or know somebody who does? any comments on how they ride or what they liked or disliked about them? also what sized do they come in? they will be going on an mk3 and i dont have new rims yet either. thanks

The C5 came with run flats. I dont know how they do as far as performance goes but when it goes out you have like 50miles or something to get them patched up.

couldn't you just buy one of those aerosol cans - inflates the tyre and pumps in some rubber sealant - don't know the generic name for it.

My Dad had run-flats on his C5(no spare tires on them), they rode like shit, a new set was going to cost over $2,000 and when one goes flat, yes you can ride on it for like 50 miles, but guess what.................you don't patch them up afterwards.........YOU BUY A NEW ONE.
Dad bought regular tires and carries a can of fix-a-flat , just in case.
RUN FLAT TIRES SUCK!!!
