Wow that's a nice time...I guess having a nice fresh low milage car helps :)
04-09-2005, 09:31 AM
Congratulations on a great run Dan. What did you do different? Can't wait to see the video.
04-09-2005, 10:38 AM
I didnt do much different, i just went to a different track lol. when i brake boosted i was amazed on how high the rpms got up cause its usually 2100-2200 before i i start spinging and it this time it was 2400-2500 and i launched real hard. i knew i had that 11
04-09-2005, 12:51 PM
Dan, that 60' kicks ass. How did you do on other runs?
04-09-2005, 02:43 PM
Chip, i was very impressed by my other runs of the night. my first one i felt like a dumbass cause i forgot to let the air out of the tire and was running 33psi on a DR
R/T : .534
60' : 1.990
1/8 : 8.044
1/4 : 12.284
After the first run i knew there was room for improvement. so i let the air out and ran 20psi on the DR and pulled my air filter out since its a clean track unlike the usual palmdale that im used to :)
R/T : -.441
60' : 1.951
1/8 : 7.916
1/4 : 12.161
After this run seeing how well preped the track was i knew i could go faster. so after letting the car cool down i went up for another run and ended up with
R/T : .694
60' : 1.871
1/8 : 7.893
1/4 : 12.026
and the last and final run of the night my friends prayed for me and instead of hitting the light with C6 i was next to i decided to wait and go when im ready. that ended up with that horrible R/T
R/T : 3.356
60' : 1.778
1/8 : 7.700
1/4 : 11.894
Now that i have ran that 11.8 that i wanted im satisfied with my time on stock stall. its time to upgrade now and get a FMIC. to head for the mid 11's last nights track time was ok since the wind was against us at 25mph slowing the trap down but after looking at my time slips today i cant believe i started out with a 1.990 60' and dropped it .2 seconds and dropped my 330 .3 seconds and the 1/8th .3 and +3 mph. When i hit that 60' on the last run i almost crapped my pants lol. the hood lifted up and it the car just took off. i now hold the record for the stock stall stock IC bpu in so cal beating mike louies time of 11.91 but not being able to catch your time chip :p
04-09-2005, 03:57 PM
FMIC plus the right stall and you'll have the quickest stock twin car in California.
04-09-2005, 03:58 PM
nice run Dan
04-09-2005, 04:09 PM
Thanks for the comments bob, chip i think im going to go for that record :)
04-09-2005, 04:32 PM
... chip i think im going to go for that record :)
The new cut-off for NHRA is 11.49, I'd like to see you get booted for no 5 point bar.
That reminds me, were the track guys cool with your 11.89 or were they sticking to the old (11.99) standard?
04-09-2005, 04:51 PM
The guy at the timeslip booth was cool about the 11.89 and no 5 point bar. on the web site it says the old rule about the 11.99 but i dont think its updated all he said i need was a helmet and im ready to run again. But i am very glad that the new cut off is 11.49 because without a cage its hit or miss on that 11 second run which sucks for people that were looking to beat their time of lets say 11.7 and end up with a 11.9 getting booted for the track but i assure everyone that next time out to fontana i will try to get booted. haha

04-10-2005, 01:58 PM
Ya hopefully a few people can make it out, i am actually going to try out those new MT drag radials since ive read that a few people say they are real good.
04-11-2005, 03:43 AM
yeah, im tired of going to these drag events and being one of the very few people representing my friend here and his Supra. granted i have a Z and most the guys out there have Zs or Vipers, i still rep for Dspec...lets see some more Supras out there at the next event. its free to spectate and you can come park in the pit area. oh and Dan u know it was all me Jessica and Juan who got u into the 11s!...k mostly me ;)
04-11-2005, 11:56 AM
Congrats on the times.
I was there spectating with my buddy Mike(1sweet00SS) and saw your runs. :bigthumb: Mike had seen your first run where as I did not. He said you went 116 mph and I was in complete disbelief. I had seen under your hood and was not expecting those kind of traps at all especially with the winds.
Here is 1sweet00SS's best run.

so this was on the private day (friday) right? Next upcoming rental day will be may13 I believe, we should try and get more supras out there for the upcoming one, maybe even some of the singled ones will show up.
04-11-2005, 12:19 PM
Ya more private events are comming up soon. i hope next time ill be ready to hit that mid 11s and give everyones head a turn :)

Heres a pitcure from prismphotos.com of Dan heating his tires:
04-11-2005, 06:47 PM
i am very glad that the new cut off is 11.49 because without a cage its hit or miss on that 11 second run which sucks for people that were looking to beat their time of lets say 11.7 and end up with a 11.9 getting booted for the track
Damn...that sounds familiar
