Thoughts on possibly having another Marina BBQ towards the end of summer?

Well this weekends BBQ was pretty fun, smaller than what was hoped for, but more showed up than i expected on account of the weather...

i did have alot of guys comeing up and asking me if we would have another over the summer...

so basically, im just trying to get a good estimate of how many people would be down for another one say late July to possibly mid to late August and hopefully get the same amount of people we had on the attendie list as this past BBQ but also hopefully get the whole group to come without worries of the rain keeping alot of people from comeing...

not to mention, if we started planning about this early, i could rent out an entire parking lot for us, as well as do some things i thought of while we were there such as, bringing some picnic tables and chairs, possibly a spare grill, and an even more detailed list of whos bringing what....as well as signs and IN DETAIL directions on where to go since alot of you guys got lost:lol:

I'm down. My car was not even close to ready, I was complete bucket status with stock exhaust and all :gaysex: . Dang smog, I'd love to meet in 2 months or something. Then the weather will hopefully be better, and mabyee everyone will open their hoods. My buddy and I are working puttin a custom webber holder in his spare tire area for the next meet, so we might bring a bigger grill.

True, the short time on the highway was probly the best. I really want to put down a show/meet in downtown (relative term) Sonoma. It really would be more of a show off, if you know the park area in the plaza I'm talkin about. They've had a ton, and I've been to a few. Vintage racing, cobras (there were over 20!) and fuel efficient.
But yeah, I'd be up for another BBQ or anythin else.

There ia a bumpy road leading to the Hunter's point park. But, very nice view (ignore the semi-getto area at the back of the hill). In general, the view is very nice.

So today i was talking to my buddy Frank over at Racetune and i told him that there has been speculation of having another summer bbq meet nearing the end of the summer.. he said that would be great but lets do something different since we've already had a meet at the park already.. so the suggestion is how about we have a BBQ supra meet at Racetune?.. they have a great big parking lot that we can use and at the same time the shop will be closed for business that day for us to have our very own private dyno day.. then we shall let the betting begin.. throw down cash to make a pot for each car that dynos.. whom ever guesses the right whp gets the cash.. i know Frank has a few bbq grills just sitting there from previous parties we've had there.. hell maybe even have a small cruise in the morning b4 we go to the bbq meet at Racetune.. if this sound slike a good idea let me know.. i'll relay things to frank and we can try to set things up.. lets try to make this meet as big or even bigger then the last.. i want more memorable meets.. something ppl will referance to in the furutre even.. if Franks suggestion is solely based on money instead of him beeing a big fan of supras then he'd most likely rather not have the meet at his shop then.. as he is shutting down the shop business wise for the meet instead of working on cars that day.. if this was a ploy to try and make money i'd think that he would rather hold a open public dyno day rather then keeping this a private affair for supras and those approved by forum members that don't own supras.. that is.. but it isn't, as Frank has always loved supras and is in fact trying to buy one at the moment as a shop car to build as a project.. wheather or not you would like to do business with Frank on the side is your business aside from this meet.. we both just thought that having the meet at his shop would be fun since the last few parties that we held there were a blast.. so with all that said i think i'll just start a new thread about this meet when i get more information after talking to frank about this, but i do believe that you guys should set a date that we can all agree on.. so lets try to lock in a date...

as for the plans....why not have the meet start at racetune...at say 9 or 10 in the morning.....and then later on in the afternoon go for a nice mountain cruise, since we didnt get to do one at the past bbq :D

If its in July, I might be able to pop on by. I remember coming up for Frank's grand opening of Racetune. Nice turnout and even though Frank was VERY SICK that day, he made every effort to make sure everyone had a good time with setting people up on the dyno or answering questions. Frank's a standup guy and I think it'd be a great idea to set up a meet at Racetune.

ok so i talked to frank and he says that the dyno pulls will be $50 for 3 pulls with a/f and boost logged and he can give you prints for the runs upon request.. i didn't takl to him on a specific date yet but i was thinkin july 23rd(sat) or july 24th(sun) for the meet.. thats planned far enough so that everyone should be able to get the days off.. and guys can get ready for the meet.. tell me what you think..
