King has been around for decades. they are probley the best bearings you can buy..They top the 77's by a lot for durability, and heat breakdown.....My uncle hs sold king for 20 years and i have built at least 12 engines with these and no trouble.

Not so true. Clevite doesn't make bearings for import cars. They are farmed out to other companies like NDC or Global. Then they are reboxed with clevite names on them. King bearings are good bearings I hear from many engine builders. I also hear that the rod bearings from clevite is a little under sized as well.

Usw Global or ACL or kings IMHO.

Toyota bearing.. Hands down the ONLY one that comes in numerous sizes. If Global or king makes them (like Aisin makes the oil pump) then source them from them.

Remember. even if the bearing is made out of tungsten. At 6000 rpm. that bearing will NOT survive metal to metal contact ;)

It mainly is about heat dissipation after installation figgie. They must beable to endure heat wihout breaking down. metal fatigue of being able to with stand oil temps.

yes I am well aware of that. Heat dissipation and the ability to embed metal particles in the soft outlayer metal materials.

Some people make it seem like Clevite is the best shit since slice bread when it is the same exact thing as OEM.

Steel outer shell, copper middle (three layer) / outer layer (two layer) with and aluminum outlayer layer (three).

This bearing does not change much from company to company.

Oh yeah and to the idiot that don't know what tungsten is....ever heard of google? Of course not otherwise I would not be posting this.

I think every aftermarket bearing out there is the same thing. I run Clevex de mexico in my supra right now or whatever they are, they work fine. I've also had NDC federal mogul and clevites before and you can not tell them apart. All good bearings as long as your clearences are in spec.

Really good info william, I've been looking to source these myself, getting them through my machine shop was a lot more.

Ok, thanks for the info guys, I'll be going with some King 1400 degree bearings.

when you figure out what you're going to do can you write up the sizes and what needed to be done to the crank?
