I'd contact PWR with dimensions for a custom radiator, or see if you can somehow use your stock radiator if you don't want to go that route.

Any decent pod filter will do the job, just get one you can wash or replace the filter on.

Notsure what you mean by mushroom, is it just a style of pod? Would be much easier to use a pod than panel style filter, as the panel styles are deisnged to fit in the engine bay of the car it came from.

Mate of mine was going to 1JZ his bmw, not sure what series it is, but it is a genuine JPS cabriolet/targa. Turned out the engine was a little too long to fit in the engine bay easily, so that's not happening now.

I'm trying to convince my friend to drop a 2JZ-GE into his '98 318i, would be a good replacement IMO :)

Meh, 6cyl bimmer engine is good enough, the cost would be waaay too much to bother swapping in a GE, at least a GTE has benefits to the swap.

Not too sure on cost of custom engine mounts, driftshaft replacement, etc but I figured being able to get the engine + gearbox for under $1k would make it a cheaper option than putting in, say, a 325i engine?

Find him an auto 2JZ-GTE front cut, or find him an engine only, and have him mate it with a W58 or R154 and just don't go too nutso on the mods :p

Really, doing a GE conversion to a bimmer is a bit of a waste of time money and effort.
