Hey guys...so i get my car up and running, the tranny is working great and I got Jerry to put his map in my aem, all is good with the world. Tonight I was driving home and my deck started to flicker, I was like what the heck? Then it just turned off, next my gauges just stopped working and then the lights went out. Then the car started to buck and everything just stopped. Went to crank it over and it wouldnt do anything the battery is totally dead. I have been having problems starting in the morning cranking it over and over again. Do you think that could be what killed my alternator?
Thanks
Richard

The volt. reg. is built into the alternator.

No... that is hard on your battery but shouldn't hurt the alternator. Heat and high RPM are the culprits in my opinion.
Your battery was completely dead because that's what your car had been solely running off of after the alternator died.
A lot of cars have a designated air duct that goes to the alternator (BMW) so if you're producing a lot of heat under the hood it will contribute to the early death of the alternator.
