87 supra turbo w/BHG purchase?

Hey i am going to be looking at a 87 supra turbo. it has manual transmission and the targa top. my cousin told me about the car (the car is his friends) He bought the car with a BHG 4-5 months ago and i was told that he got the work done for the BHG (head shaved ect) He just never got around to putting it back together. i haven't seen it yet but i was told it is in good condition. He wants a $1000 for it. I just wanted some feedback. Is it a good deal? should i get it? what things should i be looking for/ watch out for?

haha the thing u should be watching for is a BHG. but cant really tell u if its a good deal or not. any pics?? bhg isnt hard to fix. but get pics and put them up.

hmmm... I'd be worried about surface rust on the cylinder walls, ect with it being open that long. get pics and see it in person, I've seen far too many "good condition" cars be absolute junk...

ok i will take some pics, and i am going to see the car on saturday and hopefully my buddy who is pretty knowledable about cars can help me in my decision. i guess it all depends on the condition and the information the guy has on the car.

Do you think that a Grand is too much? How much should i offer?What would be a good asking price?
