Remote for alarm question

I understand there is an addon option for the factory alarm that gives it a remote alarming capability. Where is this unit normally located and what should I be looking for to see if I have one already? Is buying this option from Toyota the only way to add on a remote (i.e. can't do it with aftermarket solution)?

Jim, I have had very little experience with a factory Supra alarm. As far as the add on remote, I have only heard of it being used with the 97 and up Supras. I could be entirely wrong so dont quote me on this.

Even if you COULD add a remote, I am somewhat sure there are no aftermarket remotes that would work in place of the stock remote.
