I've seen too many answers. Who knows for sure?

I used 1-6 2-5 3-4
I was told afterwards that its supposed to be 1-5 2-6 3-4
I have also seen some1 say 1-4 2-6 3-5
Not to mention like 3 more I saw once or twice.

So whats the right one?

only way to know 100% is look at a 1jz crank or pull the spark plugs

at tdc 0 number 1 should be lined up then rotate it clockwise looking from the front of the crank to the back every 60 another piston will come up thats your firing order or check in the spark plug holes for the piston to be in the highest spot.

1 - 5 - 3 - 6 - 2 - 4.

As is the firing order in almost all inline-6 engines.

2 pistons will always come up at the same time.

yep. 153624 I burnt a 1JZ head using the wrong order on accident one day (I have plug wires unlike most of you)....not pretty.

hmm so you mean that the pistons are phased in 120 degree increments? so meaning the firing order is
1st 1 & 5 at the same time from TDC.
2nd 3 & 6 at the same time.
3rd 2 & 4 at the same time?

yep, thats the right firing order, i know because i pulled my motor apart before and turned the cranks, and thats the order

On a 1JZ-GTE no 2 spark plugs fire at the same time I don't believe. On a wasted spark setup like the 7M-GTE, the following plugs fire at the same time:

1 & 6, 2 & 5, 3 & 4.

Jeff's correct. The 1JZ (and 2JZ) don't use a wasted spark system like a 7M, they have 6 individual coils, fired independantly.

If you take out all the plugs and turn the engine over until air blows out the number one cylinder than the next cylinder to blow will be number two and so on

Its the same firing order as the 2JZGTE. This taken straight from Toyota North America's online Factory Service Manual..... 1-5-3-6-2-4.

It obviously doesn't mention the 1JZ on Toyota's North American Site but it is what the 2JZ was based off. Incase anyone's wondering, I work for Toyota which is why I've got access to their Info... ALL of it. :bigthumb:
