i was installing my cd player the other day (finally!) and i got 2 speakers working (better then nothing, gotta love a car that hasnt been treated well...). anyways, my high beams wont turn off now. i mean, the lights turn on and off and whatnot, but when i have my lights on, constant high beams. if i turn it to high beams, the normal lights turn off. so pretty much i have both bulbs going at once. im pretty sure the other drivers on the road hate me, and i would liek to fix this before i get my ass kicked for by some angry, drunk, or high person, lol. thanks.

Have you tried disconnecting the deck to see if it is actually the problem?

On another note, do you still have the dig. dash?

Does it have a rear end in it?

Usually wiring up a deck and the headlights go nuts come from splicing incorectly the leads that control the deck lighting. (or doing it right and it still goes to hell!) Usually I found that the lighting control completes a circuit that if you mess up will screw the headlights. I found a factory harness adapter from Walmart for like 7$ for my mk3 that did the job, perhaps there is one for the mk2? Will make your life easy.

I can install it for you.

I'll take a look at it, and look at what parts you need, (don't need) and we can get it going.

Will save you a shit load, and I'm a pro :) (Seriously, I freelance at Houle Motorsports)

well, the deck was installed but my friend, and the wiring is a mess (the wiring that is in there). someone chopped out the stock stereo wiring harness so we had to find all the right wires etc. the wires are weird colours, and there are differentones, i dunno. hey, if you can do it for me, then great. i only have 2 speakers running right now (both on my side) and they are crap anyways (stock one, and some old fosgates speakers someone put it at some point). i plan on getting all new speakers, and i have 6x9s (a buddy has them). when do you think you could? where ar eyou at? and where is this houle motorsports?
