yes*

*lots of time, hard work, and a substantial amount of money.

that shouldn't make a difference if you really wanna do it, though. :)

A guy on this list installed a 2JZ-GTE into his '87 or '88 Turbo Supra. He created his own custom engine mounts as well, since most people would want to use the '89-'92 cross member.

Stock twin turbo setup will not work in the MKIII chassis, as there is not enough clearance at the firewall. Convert to a single turbo while you're at it.

i currently make the mounts to drop in a 2jz into an 86-88. you dont need the liquid filled mounts or newer crossmember. i am selling them for $250.

got pics of the mount (uninstalled and installed) i wanna see them
also on the 89+ mk3s all u really have to do is get the 2j mounts and elongdate(sp) the holes too match the 89+ mounts its about 2-5mm of it this is what i have hear from others who r doing it

Hey 2jzgtema71,

Are you done with your 2jz swap into your supra? Just curious, as your nick indicates you are or have done a 2jz swap into the MA7x chassis.

and get a body 89+
any one wanna donate :D it will be for a good cause
but other then that i am seeing till late july

you need a body? wtf? do you even own a supra? or do you just have a 2jz engine with the hopes of putting it in a supra? if you dont even have a body, it will take a lot longer than late July.

it is funny how your name says 2jzgtema71 and you dont even have one

why are you using a 6 speed? i have done much research on the six speed and it is a major pain in the ass.

i dont get why ppl spend so much money on swapping the 2jz into a mkiii... i mean for the cost of a mkiii (~5000), cost of engine (5000$)... cost of labour (maynot apply 5000$) cost of other part ie turbo (500-3000$, 1jza housing for tranny, mounts, a lot of custom work... why, if u have htat money, dont you just buy a mkiv, i mean its even lighter??? i could understand for projects sake, but some ppl, think its easy and cheap cuz they are both supras, but its not... even the 1jz is relatively difficult to install... In the meantime, with only 10 000, a 7m can be bullet proof and have like 700whp!!

I've been planning on spending upwards of $30k to do a lot of custom work to my car, including the 2jz and 6 spd (if I can still find one). My reasoning is that the MKIII is just a better cruising car. I can't say I've driven a MKIV, but I've heard they are more of a sports car. I like the ability of the MKIII to be driven extremely long distances very comfortably, so I don't want to destroy that. And I want a MKIV too. hehe :D

the reason y i have that name cause i had a body till it met a ford f350 dump truck
and yes it will be done late july if everything goes right and why do u doubt i the time i put on my project u dont know if i can or cannot

and the reason i wanna put a 2j in a mk3 its just cause i can and i wanna say i did so if theres a problem with that well fuck off
oh and if ur gonna say what do i know well heres ur answer i worked for a toyota dealer and i have driven mkiv brand spanking new not even the guy who payed for it had driven it and i have driven mkivs that the owner has put some $$ on with a small turbo and it would be nice to have one but there are 3 reasons i cannot
1 to get on right now its about $20-30k this would mean taking out a loan and i dont want that
2 if i get a n/a which i dont want and put my 6 speed and 2jzgte i would still invest more about another $5k for brakes rear ends and ect.ect.ect.....
3 personally the mkiv is a real nice car but there a pain in the ass to be in for a long drive there tight and there are other personal reason also i like the look of the mk3 and a add bonus is that there are not many 700+rwhps mk3s around here in mass and
oh and for u guys that say its 10k for the transplant its more for me cause i am having the engine built to my specs and if it does not work fine i care less but i can say i tryed and thats a satisfaction nothing or nobody else cans give me
