I have been driving my MKIV lately and haven't been driving the MKII until today. I noticed the fan would start to swoosh at 2500rpm and beyond, with the A/C on.
Now I know I just replaced my fan clutch with one of those Kragen ones, plus I also bought a brand-new dealer, fan blade to go along with it.
So does anyone know if this is normal?? Or do I have a problem??

It usually takes awhile for a new clutch to break in. They do seem a bit stiff at first. But then again, if you notice it getting worse, you might've gotten a bad one. What's Kragen? Is that cheap aftermarket? I learned my lesson about those. Not sure what brand, but never buy the cheap $40 clutches. They never last. You're better off paying the big bucks for a Toyo clutch.

Kragen is exactly like AutoZone or Parts Plus or Advance Auto Parts or Pep Boys... ...isn't really aftermarket... just a retail chain car-part-store...

Never buy AutoZone or any other cheap after market brand fan clutch. You'll be sorry......trust me on this one. :p They work for a few months if you're lucky, then either lock up or start coming apart. And do you really want to risk warping that expensive head over a measely fan clutch that would've costed maybe $120? I learned my lesson after trying a few different brands of the cheap $40 dollar kind. Definitely not worth it. ;)
