Hi I'm thinking of purchasing a 2006 r1 50th anniversary edition, it has a gytr exhaust, power commander, and frame sliders. It has 4500 miles and the dealership said it would give it to me for $6400. Just wondering if any one has any experience or reviews on this bike and if the price is right thanks

Iv rode a 06 R1 that had a flashed ecu and race baffles and i actually like the R1, never been a yamaha fan too, but the R1 is starting to change my mind.

OTD that does not sound bad. But then again here in FL the bikes are rather cheap right now...like a guy down the street from me is selling a 2010 R6 with 1k miles for 7500. It's got a few mods on it too.

04-06 are the best out of the R1's. I have alot done to my 04 R1. Not many bikes came with 180hp stock....
Yamaha's= top end like crazy
Suzuki's= mid range
Kawa= low end but fall flat on top.
I think the most important thing is the ergo's of the bike. You have to see if it is comfortable for you that will be the biggest deciding factor on whether or not you will enjoy it. Trust me, 180 hp is alot of a fucking HP on two wheels.
