For frequently asked questions about the MKIII.
Well I hear many people talk of Getting rod knock after doing a engine rebuild. After doing a successfull rebuild, and then gettting knock I was a little worried. Well my knock was caused by a faulty oil pump drive shaft that caused a lack of oil. It always seems to have a reason, but no one ever...
Canadian: - Speedo in km/h - Oil Pressure in kg/mm^2 - Turbo Pressure in mmHg US: - Speedo in MPH - Oil Pressure and Turbo Pressure in PSI
I've been asked for this several times so I decided to do a write up on how I have done mine. The Nissan TPS uses two 3 wire connectors on it. One is on a short section of harness about 6 inches long and handles the actual throttle position signal and the other made to the body of the sensor is...
So after replacing my Water Pump, Radiator, Thermostat and some other things I went for a test drive. When I got back.... I started to smell burnt oil. Here is where it was coming from. (This is a 7MGE) So I dug into it further and the cause was a bad/broken Crank Case Cover/Gasket. This...
Please post any wheel questions in here. We're getting 2 wheel questions a day, often asking the same information... I don’t know. Go look for yourself. Tirerack.com lists tire specs for each model of tire. Search for the tire size you think you want and see what tires come back from...
Here's some high res scans for you guys, enjoy!!!
Original post: I threw together a random write-up in this thread one night: http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=185766&highlight=rev+match The other posts are pretty darn useful too. I think this would be very helpful to some. I don't know what you would prefer to...
Mods, can this be moved to the FAQ section? First off this method isn't the quickest but it's the easiest. You will be removing some parts that don't have to be removed but it makes it much easier. You'll need a 10mm socket, 12mm socket, 14mm socket, 14mm wrench (ratcheting wrench is a...
I am getting slammed with PMs about the turbo thread so here goes some answers. If you want to go fast at the drag strip read on. This doesn’t apply to everyone and if you don’t agree that doesn’t mean you or I are wrong. First of all make a realistic goal for your car and budget. ...
could someone point me to a general faq and buying guide for the mk3?
Be warned, this post may offend. Feel free to skip the rant section and go directly to the how to. Concepts: When you launch your car from a stop there are two main things going on. Transfer of weight from the front to the rear and then hooking. If you want a better launch, you need...
I've taken the time to rewrite the FAQ about year changes and specs for the MKIII, since there is more info on years than is included in that FAQ. Anyways here's what I put together: Years of production: 1986.5 - 1992 (86 Model Supra was MA67 (MKII)) Chassis Code: MA70 Versions: Turbo (87+)...

Here is the deal: I’m so sick of the ‘which oil is best’ threads that I’m going to take the time out of my 60-80hr work week to do some testing and put an end to this. I seriously hope that after this people will waist a lot less space on SF with dumb oil Q’s and that SF will start some new ante...
Modification Order, MK3 Supra Turbo There are many possible modification orders, but this staged list is the system I recommend for increasing your 7m-gte's power while maintaining good reliability. Please do not begin modifying unless your car is well maintained and running with no problems...
Short answer. Toysport is a joke. Measured by amichie on theothersupraforum. My BC stage 2 intake cam is in the car ATM. I will measure it when I pull it out. Looks like the 7MGTE intake cam has more lift and about 10 degrees more durataion than the NA cam.

I'm seeing a lot of posts with people asking about basic maintenance - fluid capacities in particular. This is all basic stuff found in the owners manual. I'd like to see a moderator put a sticky on this and possibly some input on other common maintenance questions. Engine Oil 7M-GE ...
As many of you know in 89 the MKIII got a nice new steering wheel, along with many other changes, specifically the cruise switch beside the steering wheel was removed, replaced with a button on the steering wheel and a cruise light on the tach. Many people with pre-89 cars wish to use the new...
Ok, so since I just went through this with another member here at 3am online, I figured I would do a little write up on this subject. If you are doing a head gasket change, DO IT RIGHT! The following is a list of pretty much EVERY THING that you should need when doing a head gasket job AND...
