    Post your suspension setups

    I am curious as to what types of racing everyone does and what all you guys have modified?
    I already bought all adjustable arms available and I am looking through FK bearings right now to find future replacement costs.
    What are you running and how has it helped the dynamic of the car?
    -Aftermarket arms? Brand, etc.
    -Sway bar setups?
    -Type of racing?

    currently my suspension is same as SlackJawOutlaw signature 4 jack stands couldn't help my self
    never took it to the track but i plan to take it to SIR and Ridge motorsports hopefully this summer.

    HKS Hipermax IV coilovers (full stiff on track, still had some rub on hard corners so would like to go stiffer)
    Stock sways and bushings
    Carbing front strut bar
    Do luck mid cross bar
    Volk G25 18x9.5 +45 square
    MPSS 255/275
    Lance alignment but a bit more camber
    Racelogic TC

    Next thing I'd like to do is go poly for all of the bushings and upgrade the driver's seat to something that's not so slidey.

    How is your steering effort with 8 degrees of caster up front? Is that caster maxed out for your upper control arms?

    Alignment is the same as Joshua, it works very well.

    This year I'm trying Forgestar F14 11 inch fronts, F14 12 inch rears
    Tires are Hoosier A7 315 fronts 335 rears

    Subscribing to this thread to remind me to post my setup eventually. In short, everything except the front lower control arms has been modified in some way. Makes custom alignments a breeze if you have the patience! I'll post up specifics when I have more time.

    I only do track days, so no real racing. I am also not willing to compromise comfort during thousands of street driving miles each year just for a few track days. Having said that, I'm very happy with how the car handles for anything I do with it. I recall doing track days on stock suspension many years ago, and then for a few more years on my Tein HA's, but to me the KW's are far superior to both in every way.

    coilovers: KW v3 (with original springs, not the heavier upgrades that are discussed relative to KW's)
    alignment: I'll have to update with some numbers since I don't have them handy, but it's a modified Lance alignment with slightly more aggressive camber.
    I'm on stock suspension arms and swaybars and have no plans to change.

    Slackjaw, said I would update, and am finding myself with a spare moment to contribute. All this is on a Mk3, for those wondering.

    -Coilovers: Stance SS, have them set at a reasonable ride height for real world, rough road use. My car sits a bit high as a result. Preload is almost non-existent as I don't understand it well enough just yet, to feel it necessary to tinker... yet. Damping is set to soak up the bumps of the real world, unless we're traveling with luggage, then things get stiffened up in the rear to accommodate. Ride is surprisingly pleasant, stiffer than stock, yet comfortable and controllable. Reminds me of a stock Miata or C5 Corvette.

    Front camber = -2.3 left, -2.7 right, probably more than necessary for a street car, had to clear the 275 width tires. Had similar camber on an older Supra, never saw undue wear over quite a lot of miles.
    Front caster = 7.2 left, 7.5 right
    Front toe = -0.01 left and right
    Rear camber = -1.2 left, -1.1 right
    Rear toe = 0.09 left, 0.08 right

    Driving impressions of alignment, I like it. It is very planted and confident at speed, not twitchy or nervous, even over mid corner bumps. Will have to see how it behaves once I get power steering plumbed and working.

    -Aftermarket arms: Beech Performance all around. Nicely built, range of adjustability seems adequate for a range of users. I'm a complete novice with this sort of thing, and even I was able to get them where I needed them to get a semblance of wheel alignment done at home. Eyeballed it, no strings, and I was shocked with how little we had to do at the alignment shop. The guy doing the alignment is the go-to guy for all the stock car guys around here, he was impressed by how easy the Beech pieces were to work with. If there might be any downside, the beefy structure of the arms might lead to some minor weight gain, but I'm certainly not worried about the strength or durability of them. Not sure if these are available anymore as of this posting.

    -Sway bar setups: Tanabe Sustec front and rear, Driftmotion adjustable end links, with quick disconnect front. I've heard good things about these bars, so I bought them. Can't really comment on the change though, as I installed ALL of this stuff (suspension, bushings, control arms, etc) at the same time. Body roll is kept to a minimum, but my daily is a stock Miata, so comparison is a bit difficult. It certainly isn't as prone to body roll as a stock suspension Mk3, but I think anything this side of a speed boat leans less...

    -Bushings: Full set of Ronnie K yellow subframe bushings, orange steering rack bushings, and Energy Suspension for the front lower control arms. Also used Energy Suspension for one of the rear bushings, not the spherical bearings, but the other one that looks similar. I forget what it's called off the top of my head, sorry.

    -Type of racing: I built the car with road racing in mind, my heart is in the twisties. That said, I'm something like 3+ hours away from the nearest track, in Tooele, Utah. So, I have to make due with mountain roads where I can find them. As is, it's comfortable enough for long road trips, daily driving, or the canyon runs. I think it would be right at home on a road course, or possibly fast autocross, once I get a few new-build quirks worked out. I'd say mission accomplished, it suits me and my driving style quite nicely.
