I will certainly do so. I have an appointment Wednesday for alignment, corner balance, and race seat install.

I have the Tien RA's with the pillowball mounts in my car. They are lighter than stock due to the aluminum construction.
I have the damping set at approx 2 clicks (softer) from the midpoint and they are kinda stiff. I beleive they are stiffer than the HA's because the spring rates are higher than the HA's. I also have TRD sways and front and rear strut bars and I have to tell you that the car handles like it's on rails.
My supra is not my daily commuter so I can live with the stiff ride. But if you plan on using your supra as a daily commuter I would not recommend the RA's.

haha, yes i'm talking to you!

Quick, one thing to remember is that your brand new springs are going to need some time to "settle". After I installed my coilovers, I drove the car for a couple hundred miles before taking it in for a cornerbalance (they settled a good half inch at least). Unfortunately, when I went to the track a week later, they settled a bit more (about a quarter inch), and I wound up having to do some height adjustments at the track to avoid rubbing, which of course meant my cornerbalance was pretty much wasted money. You might want to hold off on the cornerbalance until after putting some serious miles on the springs. Personally, I should have just done it after the track event, that way I would only have had to pay for an extra alignment instead of a cornerbalance and alignment. Whatever you decide, you are going to absolutely love the improvement in handling with coilovers!!! Have fun!Originally posted by quick

Yeah. The car feels awesome now. I need to get the height adjusted at least ~1/2" higher in both front and rear, but it feels quite nice.
i did a search and didnt find anything... but im curious as to how much adjustability in ride height? ive seen how many ways the dampening is adjustable and all, but never seen anyone mention the ride height (i know its not that big of a deal as the other stuff, but im just curious) anyone know?
I'm running damping settings of 4 each in the front and rear. Anything lower seems to 'bouncy' IMO. I might crank up the rear another two notches.
Spring perch height is as follows (I'm running 295/30s on the rear and 245/35s on the front on 18s):
- rear: 10 7/8" from center of bracket hole to bottom of lowest adjusting ring (the locking ring)
- front: 11" from center of bracket hole to top of highest adjusting ring (basically the perch)
I'm very pleased. I was finally able to get the ride height I wanted (stupid Eibachs were too low IMO).
As a couple people mentioned there was quite a bit of settling that occured on my first drive. I just adjusted the height to these settings and now I'm off for another drive.![]()
A buddy in the west forum asked me to write up any time-saving tips on the install, so I'll post it here:
Here's the write-up with all of the time-savers (much quicker this way):
Front:
- unbolt 14mm bolts at top of assy (under hood)
- unbolt 19mm shock mount on bottom and pull bolt
- put your right foot on the rotor and reach under the fender to hold the old shock/spring stuff
- push your foot down with enough pressure that you can slide the lower mount up and to the inside part of the mounting bracket that it bolted into
- look at that bracket and note that it is held in with two 14mm bolts. one of the bolts is covered by the bottom of the assy you just slid back, the other is now accessible.
- move stuff around to unbolt the bracket (after you get the first bolt you have to maneuver to get the 2nd)
- maneuver the assy until you can get it out. if at first it seems unlikely keep playing with it and you'll get it.
- Reverse the steps to install.
This saves considerable time. It's easier with two people, but I did it myself.
Rear:
- unbolt top 12mm nuts after pulling trim pieces
- unbolt bottom 19mm nut and pull bolt
- push down on rotor with foot and extract old assy.
- reverse to install new stuff.
Do yourself a favor and get some mechanic's gloves. Make a big difference and keep your hands from getting chewed up.
LMK if you have any questions.
So how do you like them?

They rock the house when it comes to road racing. Unfortunately the streets around here are pretty bad, so I put 'em up for sale.Originally posted by 95BPUplus

If you have good roads in your neck of the woods or you are a little less of an old man than I am then you'd like 'em a lot.
Update: Now that I have AVS Sports the ride on the street is acceptable. I don't know what it was about the PZeros, but it rode quite a bit rougher -- I think it was a function of a shorter sidewall (despite the same sizes in the rear at least).
I am very happy with 'em. Wouldn't trade them for anything at this point.
I have the buddy club racing spec dampeners and i love them.
spring rates are 18kg in the front and 10kg in the front which is great since we have a lot more weight hanging in the front. They are on the stiff side, and if you daily drive this in metropolitan area it may drive you insane, but for a weekend car and a frequent track enthusiast you can't go wrong, plus they are a monotube type coilover unlike the tein cs and ha's .
kei office makes great stuff too however their springs rates are incredibly harsh 22k in the front and 18k in the rear... definatley for full track use

Hey, I have Tein RA's too. Never heard any unusual nosie from them, but I did hear the clack noise that some people have mentioned, and that was just because the top nut is loose.
My Specs
ccw classic 18x10 f and 18x11.5 r with 295/30/18 front and 315/30/18 rear Pirelli Rosso Asymetricos
TRD 27% sways
R1 poly bushings kit front and rear
TRD FSTB
Cusco RSTB
Had that setup for about 2 years not and it has worked great, I have it setup at 16-6 on front and 16-10 rear. It is very stiff but part of it is tires and the bushings. When I got the RA's partically because Tein had so many different spring rates available for the main spring as well as the helper spring, plus it does everything I need to do without spending the extra for say JIC or HKS units (I'm not saying they are bad).
theres a full write up on coilover install with pics, its very detailed. its on an sc300 which shares almost the same suspension as a mk4.

It's braindead simple to install the coilovers. I can't believe anyone would need a writeup for this...thanks for the link tho.
you guys might have gone over this but i didn't see it when i was skimming over everything. anyone use the electric dampening system? the one where you can adjust the settings inside your car. I dunno if it's magnetic fluid or a stepper motor on a adjuster but i think it's a sweet idea and I was woundering if anyone uses it
did you miss the thread on "how do i change my oil"?Originally Posted by quick
I thought the same thing. simple and some others didn't see it that way so i got a neg rep or two from that

I get really bad squeeking noises from the back HA's I have, plus I get that knocking noise also.
