1. There should be a "for sale" section for australia only in here
2. People shouldnt be banned without warnings/knowing what the truth is
I think to kick things off, Id like to see the following dedicated to the australian section...
1. Cars for sale
2. Parts for sale
Also, we seem to get a lot of members asking about recommended places of repair and servicing....perhaps we could work this in somehow..
No doubt the others will have additional comments.
yeh N_S has done a good job providing info for australian supra owners i think we need to improve his sticky even more and get it very detailed

Something I think we definitely need is an Australian mod for this section.
Someone who will hang around in here and knows what's happening and who is who.

Id hate to see topics being shut down, and or asked by moderators not to speak on certain subjects.....
you know what I mean, its great to have a bit of freedom, unlike other forums, where the minute things go off topic, they get shut down.

I think if we had an Australian mod who knew how this section works and who knows the guys/gals on here it would be OK IMHO.
I know what you mean though and I wouldn't want to see people being banned, topics closed or anything like that.
A mod would come in handy for stickying things up etc. etc. that sort of thing.
Have a moderator here, BUT limit what it can do (in theory).
Even privilages can be given to do certain moderating, BUT make it so it only structures certain things. Say reorganize threads, move threads or even edit certain threads to do some simple house cleaning and just make sure its consistent.
Regarding banning or closing of threads, it would have to be from a moderator from other parts of the forums, or the super mods/admins. The Aust moderator will be used just for advice regarding what they should do, like a right hand man keeping an eye out for this.
This would certainly reduce the load of the other mods and let them to come to a comprehensive decision.
Before picking a mod though they have to be neutral, so they don't really care which way the wind blows but they are fair, they have to be also serious, as we can't just have a half arse slack person who might be on a boards a lot but in terms of moderating quality does FA in terms of forum quality.
Also personal vendettas aren't permitable, and the Aust mod should be able to suspend both accounts before it escalated and discuss with the other moderators before that decision becomes final. Same thing goes with closing threads and what nots, they can close it but whether the closure is permanent is again subjected to the other moderator's input. THis way you have backing up from all ground and people can't flame each other for unfairness.
It HAS to be a fair moderator, otherwise its just stupid appointing someone a moderator as they does nothing, you'll quickly see this section degrade into nothing.
Again, I dont think we need one. HOWEVER, I would quite certainly be willing to do this....

You cannot nominate yourself as a moderator, nothing against you mate but it just not right.
Moderator has privilages, which others must nomidate, that way it is fair.
Besides before coming here there was no info at all, it was all in past threads, but if the newbies were to have search it every time, it leaves alot of room for errors.
Sometimes they may overlook certain threads as the title are misleading, and sifting through all that thread would be rediculous (even I admit it, before I made the sticky I went through EVERYONE of them in EVERY PAGE).
I don't think we really need a mod either, but the occasional check would be fairly good. Just things have gotten outta hand lately, maybe its best to let it die down/lie low for the moment and I think if we do get a mod's ok before someone selling stuff (like to groups or even doing a business) then it would be alright.
Maybe even impose that they donate to this site/sponser or hand over certain details so if things gotten outta hand or a scam is going on they can foward details and logs from the website to the relevant authorities.
Our own for sale sections would certainly be welcome, and maybe a Wanted to Buy or Where/What Should I Buy section?
As for moderators I'm not sure either, it would be handy to have someone who can tidy up and make stickies etc. But we've done ok so far without it, so it might still be something we're better off without. We all get on well enough most of the time anyway.
Definently a parts and cars for sale section. Not too many different forums other wise its confusing

and maybe an australian cruises section that way its easy to keep up to date with cruise info without getting it lost in between all the other mumbo jumbo on the forums

yeah the australian for sale section(s) should be a seperate forum them selfs, otherwise those stocki thread you got are gonna get REAL long and confuseing....... or am i just mistaken and this already being done?
well i vote no mod, coz i have to see things getting shut down for bullshit reasons
but if we have to have one then ill nominate ramone (oh u owe me bad) at least that dickhead wont be shuttin things down for stupid reasons ie. namecalling

yeah if we get a mod i doubt they'll go powerhungry and shut shit down.... but atleast it would give us a chance to get a few stockys and delete stupid shit if any which there isn't much so yeah the mod would have an easy job :P

1. Too many stickies at the top of the page = bad. Therefore better to have one link to things like sales/wtb, cruises and club events, tips, repairs, mods etc ...
2. I have currently moderate four other forums and have been moderating various forums for about 4 years now and I have only banned three people in that time. It is generally not necessary but two were for posting pr0n and stuff and I banned Nik because he is a steroid munchin foo ... and it was a funny thing to do.
3. Self moderated boards are betrer ... by self moderated, I mean regular posters are usually able to say enough to keep the dickheads at bay. Occasionally some pr0n will slip through without a NSFW warning and it might be good to have someone here to remove that kinda stuff ... but it hasn't been that common here from what I have seen.

the mod would have to be someone who is totaly open minded & someone who could see how things have been posted wether its someone missunderstood or someone totaly trying to start war in peoples threads..
to get a 1st warning u would have to be a total dick or done something real bad, but just bein a pain in the ass & not such a serious matter would not call for a warning..
people can also talk to mods & if theres something in there threads that just shouldnt be there & effective to stopping someone from selling an item, the mods does his/her job & removes the thread so a clean post can keep selling with no probs..
myself i dont care who does the MOD job, because you guys
are all great dudes, but just remeber that bein in control, u must refrane your self at times & be the sencable mod u claim you would be..MODS can also loose there jobs to if not carryed out propper!!
