    What's wrong with the Hurricanes?

UGH! Not only two losses in a row since, when, 1997? But two losses ina row to UNRANKED teams! Im so dissapointed... Brock Berlin was playing well, but was over throwing alot and making some poor choices when "throwing the ball away" instead of being patient... I dunno, I'm just a lil upset about the way their season is panning out... From #3 to #10... After last nights OT loss, if they are still in the top 20 I'll be suprised...

    Just venting...

I hear ya man. It's just really depressing to see a team like that go through tough times, but those are the times you have to support and stick by them

apparently you are not a canes fan. you must have started watching this year. last year they lost away at tennessee, then home vs virginia tech. that was just last season. how could you not remember that if you were a canes fan?

whoever said they suck, you are 100% correct. this is the worst non-probation team ive ever seen. but, you cant really expect to be good every year especially when you lose sophomores and juniors to the nfl every year. think about it, in the last 5 years, they have lost 20 first rounders. 20. the next closest to that is 6. fsu, oh st, and some other schools all have lost 6 first rounders in the last 5 years. miami have lost 20. when you lose guys like sean taylor, kellen winslow, vince wilfork, santanna moss, andre johnson, reggie wayne, jon vilma, dj williams, jeremy shockey, bubba franks, dan morgan... it is going to catch up to you.

all the guys on the team now are young. you used to never see freshman playing on a canes team. but with all these early departures, you have true freshman STARTING, not just playing, starting. lance leggett, greg olsen, anthony reddick, are all freshman who have started. this year they lose 1 starter on defense, the senior antrel rolle. and on offense they lose 4 i believe. brock berlin, joel rodriguez, kevin everett and chris myers. so next year returning 17 of 22 starters is a very nice thing to look forward to.

and hey, at least we beat fsu.... AGAIN

I'm sorry, all I read was excuse, excuse, excuse. The 2000 team was worse than this team. Note to TRD Supra 11: Ken Dorsey performed HORRIBLY at the NFL combines. He was CONSISTANTLY picked off throwing out routes.

If you're going to talk about a young team, talk about a young UF team...starting D line all sophomores and 1 JC junior transfer, 5 out of the 6 LBs are sophomores, and 1 senior, 3 of the DBs are sophomores, and 1 senior; sophomore starting QB, sophomore WRs, 1 junior, 1 senior.

And the "whoever said [...]" my post was right above yours, I'm sure you know how to scroll, feel free to quote me by name.

i must thank you for showing me TRULY how little of a football fan you really are, let alone a gaytor fan. let me show you why

the 2000 canes team = 10-1, #3 in the BCS, BARELY behind FSU to go to the national championship game vs oklahoma. miami should have went b/c they beat fsu that year (like virtually every other year) and guess who they played in the bowl game?

i'll give you one clue..... THE GATORS. guess who won that game? can you guess... still thinking? oh thats right a fucking blowout canes destroyed the grossman gaytors 37-20. the next year, with basically the same team, undefeated national champs. lol. the 2000 team was clearly better lol you have absolutely NO IDEA what ur talking about.

oh note to LLCoolJ94 - did i once mention ken dorsey as being one of the guys taken in the first round? where did i ever type that? now ur making shit up cuz obviously u have no answer for that. NOT ONCE did i mention dorsey. also, dorsey in college has nothing to do with dorsey in nfl. dorsey in college 38-2 as a starter, in the heisman race 2 years in a row.. ya he really sucked in college. LOL @ your stupid ass for not knowing SHIT

OOPS, maybe it was UNRANKED teams back to back... Excuse me, I was quoting the announcers from the game...

And I never said I was this megamonster super fan... I never said I consume my free time in monitoring the stats of a college team... I just asked a question: what happened to Miami this year?

I am a fan, but college football is not my favorite... I like FSU, Miami, UF, and UGa... But I couldnt tell you who their line ups are, or what rank their defenses are... I just like them, because they are all home town teams... I lived in all the cities, and was born in Miami... I'm not a radical die hard fan, where if you don't like my team, then you must suck ass... Or if you say Miami sucks ass, Im not going to get all pissed off... I dont care, like who you want to like, make fun of who you want to make fun of... Makes no difference to me... I just asked a question, based on opinion: wtf happened to the Miami Hurricanes this season? They started out so hot, and they're fizzling out...

I just want hockey to come back, and I want the Bucs and the Dolphins to straighten out... THAT'S got me more bent out of shape than any college team... IMO... thanks... Jake

Nick, that might be, but that team was NOT that good. I was NOT EVER impressed with them, THAT year. They were too young. Mostly, Miami was ranked high because the AP wanted to challenge the BCS, and still does.

Dorsey did suck, they played ABSOLUTELY NOBODY for most of those games. FSU was good (not now though), but the Big East should be the Big EASY. Then they played Nebraska, who A did not win their conference and B was undersized, undertalented, and undercoached. I didn't make that up, in fact, I was waiting to see how he would do in the combines, I always knew he sucked, but I just couldn't wait for that to be confirmed.

Oh, and of course I remember that game, the Sugar Bowl, where your mascot came onto the field in the MIDDLE OF THE GAME!!! How fucking retarded do you need to be to walk onto the middle of the field while a game is in progress???

And Nick, did I EVER MENTION DORSEY BEING TAKEN IN THE FIRST ROUND? NO, I said he sucked, look at your avatar doofus.

What's sad is that Miami lost all of those players last year, and STILL didn't win the national title. So if they are not good this year, as you said, and they lost games last year, doesn't it mean that both years they were not good?

By the way, EVERY sports analyst of 2001 said UF had more physical talent than Miami. EVERYONE, believe me, I read article after article after article. Not just ESPN and ABC, CBS, NBC...but sports magazines accross the country.

Fact of the matter is, college football has ALWAYS been something special to me, YOU could not conceive how special it is to me. So I know my college football.

so if you know so much about college football, why do you care what the experts have to say about a team? who cares who they say is better? the experts dont play the games... the teams do. and in 2001, who won between miami and florida? tell me please who won the game? thats right, miami did, in a blowout none-the-less. that game was in gainesville, which i drove 4 hours to go watch and had pleasure witnessing all the gaytor fans cry in bitter defeat. you could have alllll the talent the experts say you do, yet you lose, at home, and in very poor fashion. didnt even put up a fight. 41-16 i believe was the final score.

also - i am confused about when you say 2001 analysts...

    A) are you talking about the 2001 season (bowl game in 02), where miami went UNDEFEATED in the regular season then went on to the national championship game and eventually "lost" to ohio st (on a bs pass inteference call, so i say lost very loosely)

    B) or do you mean the 2000 season (bowl game played in 2001) when miami WON THE FUCKING TITLE?

you say you know college football and its so special to you, yet you are so blinded by the light its making me die of laughter.

you are relying on what experts say. if ur such a football guy, you and i both know the games are played on the field, not on paper. so drop ur gaytor bias bullshit and look at the fucking facts.

once is a fluke, twice is lucky, 3 times ITS A FUCKING FACT.

    so lets look at it...

    ONCE - 2000 SUGAR BOWL MIAMI 37 FLA 20
TWICE - 2001 AT BEN HILL GRIFFIN MIAMI 41 FLA 16
    THRICE - 2002 ORANGE BOWL MIAMI 38 FLA 33

miami has had better teams, played better, and far and beyond MUCH better coaching. end of the story. drop ur homer attitude, cuz it makes u look like a moron. these are all FACTS.

    Nick,

I don't know of any season other than the one that took place from 2001-2002, when Rex was a RS soph.

Secondly, you can't really put much reliance on the Zook game, seriously, half the team left with Spurrier, and you had Ed "screen pass" Zaunbrecher as the coordinator.

To be totally fair, I was surprised that Miami came into the Swamp, and played scared. They really did. I was stunned, I expected Miami to beat the shit out of UF from start to finish. And I can't say they were really confident until after Graham scored after the UM turnover.

It's not just one analyst, or two, but consistant accross the board. UF lost to UA that year because they were too cocky. I saw that coming. UF lost to UT because Spurrier already knew he was leaving, and didn't care. The team was illprepared; Spurrier was at his beach house for the week off, which never happens, and he even waved after the loss to the fans, as though to say goodbye. The best team does not always win. I always thought that in '96, when UF did win the national championship, that Nebraska was better. How about that?! Blinded by the light ....So when I say UF was the BEST team that year, I sure AS HELL mean it!

Oh, can you tell me what "thrice" means?

You're the only one here who looks like a moron, better yet a jack ass.

thrice means for a 3rd time genius.

like i said -- you can have all the talent you want and all the excuses you want. you still lost. now its funny how you use all these excuses for why florida lost. cant you just accept it. "they lost cuz they were cocky, miami played scared." all i hear is excuse excuse excuse. dont be a bitter just like every other khaki short wearing, white visor gainesville FAG gaytor fan. accept you got ur ass handed to you 3 years in a fucking row. not once did you have a better team, NOT ONE YEAR. if you did you would have won at least one of those games. now shut the fuck up seriously cuz u really are clueless.

How is Miami playing scared an excuse for UF? It's more of an excuse for UM...or a bad look on UF for not capitalizing. You really are too defensive about UM. You can't even see the light out of your ass...how do you drive?

llcoolj - long time no response LOL. i didnt expect one b/c you really have no idea what you were talking about and you were made a fool of everytime.

anyway -- WE ARE BACK BABY. frank gore close to 200 yards and mr clutch brock berlin doin it again. all thats left is wake forest and vtech and then we will have our very 1st ACC title. too bad they had to have a couple of serious fuck ups before they acted right. but maybe thats what this young team needed, a real kick in the ass. and even if we did go to orange bowl this year, no one can slow down usc.. they are so good. i just want my BCS bowl and i will be happy.

and gator fans SWEET win over ... uhhh.. south carolina in zookers farewell game at the dump, i mean swamp. i hope florida does well in whatever prestigious bowl they get to. maybe the holiday bowl or chick-fil-a peach bowl

No Nick, my laptop is in the shop. I am responding from CompUSA.

The Hurricanes are back after one win? I think not. In all seriousness, they have a ton of talent, however, Berlin is not part of that. He is not stable in the head.

Miami playing scared looks bad for UF because it's another reason why UF should have won. Do I need to spelll everything out for you? I don't need to be on that field for that game to know what a scared team looks like.

Dude, can't you see that in both posts, only you are being made an ass of? Or are you that ignorant? Anyway, I'm done with you, it's impossible to talk sense with a donkey.

how can a team that won 41-16 play scared?

and berlin doesnt have it in the head?

who lead a 23 point comeback against the gators? brock berlin.

who lead the last minute socring td drive against FSU? brock berlin

who lead a 17 point comeback scoring on every single drive in the 2nd half against louisville? brock berlin.

who threw a 34 yard TD on 4th down to seal the game against virginia? brock berlin.

who led the last minute scoring drive to win the game last year vs wvu? brock berlin.

so far this year, 18 tds 4 INTs (1 INT was a hail mary right before half time)

your absolutely right, he's got a screw lose, LOL

good luck in tallahassee this weekend HAHAHA

No Nick, I don't mean he has a screw lose. He fits right in at Miami, as K. Ratliff put it, "Brock always played scared." No I didn't derive my scared comment about UM vs. UF in 02 from that, but it fits.

That's why Berlin never beat Grossman, Rex responded to challenges and accelled. Even Coker picked on Berlin indirectly (I think I told you this) by saying his backup has excellent character because he didn't just transfer after he didn't win the starting job, that's what loser do. I meant stable as in you put him adverse situations and he usually doesn't perform as well as say Rexi.

Secondly, Berlin didn't "lead" the comeback so much as UF had a tired defense. Either way, they won. I was happy with the outcome because NOBODY, especially me, expected UF to even be close. UF earned a lot of respect that night. If you can't even secede to that, you are just as ignorant as I think. Anyway, CompUSA is closed as of 7 minutes ago. Later.

i am still extremely curious how you can call a team scared when they won 41-16. thats not close. thats a blowout. where do you possibly get scared from?

and i agree with you 100% that grossman is better than berlin. i never once said berlin is better than rex. rex is a damn good qb and a much better one than berlin. however, alot of players who want PT transfer.

so you are saying put him in adverse situations and he doesnt succeed? well you couldnt be more wrong. i just showed you all the places where he DID excel. he actually works BETTER under pressure, thats why you see so many come from behind wins by him. its like he needs to be pressured to perform his best.

ok so who lead the comeback vs florida? was it ron zook leading the canes back into the game? im sure that the gators defense never played a full game before, so they were "tired" at halftime and decided to call it quits. that must be what it was. they didnt really lose, the D was "tired" LOL so where was the offense? were they tired too? actually, i think they fell asleep. get a fucking clue simply pathetic. i'd have more respect for you if you actually gave good arguments, but all you do is make up lame excuses... "miami played scared because they won 41-16.... brock berlin didnt make a comeback, our defense was tired"

Can a Gators fan get any more pathetic? Enough of the bitching and moaning about Zook, and wishing for the "good ole days of Spurrier." All of those years, and all of that talent and he could only walk away with 1 title. I guess a UF fan's idea of glory days are a bit different than ours. Go have a wet dream about hanging 70 points on Vanderbelt or whatever you guys get off on.

I will post some more links concerning my points.

Then, you both can suck on that......the intelligence.

I don't wish for the "good ole days," I wish Zook would stay. Spurrier didn't have that much talent, this year's team has way more talent that all of say two or three Spurrier years. Spurrier was simply incredible at picking defenses apart. But I don't want him back. Read my other posts in the Ron Zook is fired thread. I will post info on how little talent he had. He pulled off miracles by genious play designs. NEVER have I said i wanted Spurrier over Zook. So his 1 title was the 1 of only 2 or 3 years he really had really good talent. I even said I think Nebraska would have creamed UF that year, and they were lucky not to get a second dosage of the same (from the Fiesta Bowl). Though maybe Steve could have put something together to win, idk. So next time you tell somebody to wish or have a wet dream about Spurrier, you better realize who you are talking to. UNLIKE YOU TWO INGNORANT FUCKS, I AM VERY RESEARCHED ON THE MATTER, ESPECIALLY UF, SO I SPEAK OF FACT, AND NOT MY BLIND IGNORANT FEELINGS.

Nick, if you don't like that, you can PM me and we can meet up some place and work things out.
