    Throttle opener

Can someone explain the purpose of the "throttle opener" - I want to remove it if I don't need it or should I say I don't want to put it back on. I'm going single and trying to remove everything that is nonessential from the engine. I've got the Map ecu. I was curious what the throttle opener's purpose is and if it's absolutley needed. It is the little plunger located in front of the throttle butterfly wheel on the stock tb that is connected to the vacuum line on the top of the tb.

I have also totally removed the traction control system (brain, pump, butterfly etc..)
