Luckydevil:
I didn't use any primer but cleaned it well as per instructions. The instructions for mine called for amonia and I used that since when I did parts before it didn't coat as good.
I also didn't use any clearcoat.
I use a car polish on it every once in awhile.
I guess try it and then test it out with cleaners and see if it get's f'ed up. You know me, daily driver, I clean that engine bay like 2 times a month with Gunk. I wonder if that plasti-coat is any different than the rustoleum.Originally posted by LUCKYDEVIL
Mike- Did you clearcoat it or use a primer first?
I have the Rustoleum brand spray paint that is made specifically for plastic. It says on the can that no primer is needed.
very nice..
what bits you getting chromed ?

Stock cam gears (I wanted to be different and not buy aftermarket gears), radiator brackets, battery hold down bracket, nuts and bolts, Power Steering Fluid reservoir.Originally posted by chrisrocks

Polishing-Upper intake manifold, throttle body, PHR Radiator pipe, weld closeed and polished coolant neck, valve covers.
One of these days I'm going to get to that.weld closeed and polished coolant neck
I always thought though what if I want to go back to stock twins? Yeah right!
That's easy...toyota and junkyards still sell that part LOL. Or drill holes back in it, thread, and put nipples back in.Originally posted by mike91t

Found another pic of the valve covers.

Why didnt you just have it chromed... same price, and doesnt haze up....
damn looks really good Brad
That's nice!! least you weren't a cheap ass like me and do it yourself. I spent over 12 hrs doing mine.

All of the polishers now refuse to chrome Aluminum. They will only polish it, saying it won't stick. Talked to 2 different guys here and they wouldn't do it.Originally posted by Ckanderson

It was only like $150 for the intake.
Here is the temporary website I am building for the polishing shop while his domain name is being registered.
(Removed website link, I believe I broke the rules posting a link to a business.)

Well Supranick just had his valve covers chromed (2jz ones) it will be interesting to see if it will stick...
BTW, great price for that manifold...
Horacio has everything triple chrome plated and his is fine, they just wouldn't do it. I wish they would have, polishing this stuff up is a pain twice a month.Originally posted by Ckanderson

I've seen that stuff in some of the Eastwood catalogs. It isn't cheap though, $100 a pop.
Eastwood also removed it from their newest catalog. Not sure why they removed it, but that makes me skeptical of it.
wow that thing is shinny!! good werk
Guess $130 for the kit puts a lot of people off Zoopseal.
read a lot of good reviews from bike and hot rod forums..
I`m going to give it a go on my cam covers and see how it goes.

ive just put this zoopseal on my racing hart cx's to try and protect the chrome rims. also put it on a bit of bling under the bonnet. will let you know how it holds up
