on a somewhat related note, did anyone ever determine exactly what causes the 'mushy', or 'dampened' pedal feel in the mkiv? pistons, m cylnder, or actual pedal?
how are your pads? when was the last time you bled the brake system? also you can usually tell if the master cylinder if you pump the brakes and on ur 3rd or 4th pump it becomes solid like it should be.
I am using Stoptech rotors and calipers all around on my car along with SS braided lines as well. I have no mushy pedal whatsoever, and the car stops on the DIME.
yup, usually its the master cylinder with this problem. if you don't have any brake fluid leaking. and if this started right after your big brake kit. you can try to bleed the brake system first.
we just got this supra. and the pads have a lot left.
the front rotors seem warped but we're going to replace those asap.
whenever i pump the pedal it gets stiff. i can hear a sound coming from under the hood when im doing this also. thanks for your input guys
If your brake come back after pumping the pedal, that sounds like master cylinder. I noticed you said you have a bad rotor, is that confirmed. I ask because if the car has power brake assist (not sure if they do) the pedal will go down near the floor and as you come to a stop you might feel a pulsating and the pedal will push back against your foot. The pulsating feels simular to a warped rotor.
