If you want stock spring ratings and stock height, why not retain stock? Unless I'm misintrepreting.

I need to replace it, I want to ride stock height for 6mnths then lower it 1inch, so i still want flexability, but need something as close to stock stiffness as possible? whats out there?

Get bilsteins or konis (koni's will be softer because of their adjustability) and have Ground-Control put together a coilover package for you. Tell them you want to lower 1" and have close to stock spring rates. That would work very nicely.

How can I get Konis and Ground Control Coilovers?

Problem with that is that you will be stuck on the 1". Most coilovers out there, if not all, will be stiff.

D2's are about $950 for a set of four, the quality is excellent and you can specify the spring rate when you order. Keep in mind the spring rate for a soft (or near stock feeling) ride will be largely based on the tire aspect (eg a very soft spring for a thin sidewall (19's) or a stiffer spring for a thicker sidewall (17's)).....

D2 is great to deal with, the quality is exceptional and the price is good, just make sure you specify the correct spring rate. Better to err on the soft side, as you can adjust the spring preload, whereas you cannot do this if you get them too stiff.

No matter what coil over you get, you can always measure the springs and order the same size but softer spring rate from QA1.

I guess you have no clue what they are...

Ground controls are custom coilover sleeves that use eibach race springs and are height adjustable. You can order any spring rate you want.

Tein CST's are probably going to be the softest dampened and sprung coilovers available.

    Stock:
    Front 430 lbs.in / Rear 219 lbs.in

    HKS:
    Front: 784 lbs/in
    Rear: 448 lbs/in

    Tein Comfort Sport (CST)
    Front: 560 lbs/in
    Rear: 340 lbs/in

Yes, and they also are compatible with the EDFC so that you can change the stiffness electronically while driving. Hit up Dusty @ MVP if end up wanting to get them.

Out of the box they lower the car .55"/.24" but can go +.91/-1.5 fr and +.87/-.98 in the rear.

Isn't raising them up going to compress the spring and make the ride stiffer?

I have tein super streets with the edfc. When I put the edfc at the softest setting it rides as smoth as my sc300. The sc has stock struts and springs. The edfc can make a huge differance in the compression.

How do you like that setup, sounds good and affordable?

tein basics....they get you the height adjustability and they are softer than flex even at full soft setting...and they are like 800 or less...I've even heard people score these around 7.....
when you said affordable I figured you didn't want to hear "hks" which are very nice, but not cheap...

Why coilovers? The koni eibach setup is pretty nice...

megans, 850 for a set, on the softest settings feel like stock just with a little pep in them. When dialed harder, they get pretty sporty. Full adjustability, no squeeks, A++++++

With Tein SS use your stock pillow blocks. This will make a big difference in ride also.
I put in Tein flex with the Tein pillow blocks. Boy is it stiff especially with low profile tires even at softest dampening setting.

RS model is not "fully" adjustable in the sense that there is independent height and preload adjustments- that's a feature found on the Performer model. Correct me if wrong though. Unless you have tried Performers you can not say absolutely that RS is most comfortable.
