What do you guys do/use for a knock sensor, use somthing like the HKS Knock A/F knock amp or does this have something built in?

also NOTHING else is needed for install correct?
also can any of the sensors from My current AEm ecu system be used

Im up in the air between the M600s1 or s2 and the HKS F-Con V-Pro what makes one better than the other ?

We don't use any kind of knock detection. Yes all of the sensors you are using with your Aem now will work with the Motec ecu.

Of course it takes a good tune to make that happen, but the power/flexibility of the Motec is really nice.

Let me know if you guys have any questions about the Motec, the Titan kit or the AIM dash. I would be happy to answer them!

The dash kit looks really nice John, I may be picking one up from you soon.

John or I will post the dyno of my car soon. The motec is working nicely indeed w/ my GT40R/fullrace setup.

About the electrical tape....my roadracing wheel from my nissan will be put in when I get home, but for now I'll stick with this awesome custom tape setup.

The engine setup, in brief is:

    Stock block/head
    HKS 264 cams
    Full Race exhaust manifold
    GT4088R turbo
    Greddy 3 row I/C
    Custom 4" exhaust
    Motec M800 EMS
    In tank Walbros/WOTM hanger/1000cc injector

Pump gas 18psi, Race gas 30psi:

It should be an awesome road course setup (which is the primary use of the car) and Billy just completed driving it from our shop in Oregon to Iowa. While the weather added a bit of adventure to the trip, it sounds like the car ran great and he made it without any damage.

Those numbers are awesome. I don't think I've ever seen a 6xxrwhp/6xxrwtq dyno before

Looking good John. Glad to hear it's running well. Are you guys switching your race car over to a Motec box?

I've done a motec pnp on 18 cars already. Haven't had a single issue with any of them. I recently made a PNP harness for a wrx sti and it works awesome as well. I plan on making something for the viper next...

We may switch it over, but hasn't been a front burner project. We have been so busy with customer work in the shop we haven't really touched the thing since we got back from Vegas.

Does the STi setup you did give the Motec control of the DBW?

Hit me up via email if you want to talk about the Viper stuff. I build a lot of harness parts for those already.

The response and powerband is amazing now, it's spooling the same as my 61 did but w/ a lot more up top. John got the car to run better with the motec than it's ever ran. Spooling so well I'd think about doing intake mani/headport/valvesprings in a few years to open the powerband even more.

Big big thanks to John, Brian, Tim at Rrev, Titan, and Geoff at Fullrace also for helping piece together what I wanted to do. As soon as the snow's gone I'll wash the car and get pics along with a better post of my motec impressions but so far it's doing exactly what it's suppose to do every time.

So the M820, could it run 12 injectors, (say 660/1600) with the bigger injectors being able to come in under boost?

If so this would give daily drivability to a 1200whp car.

Yes. you wouldn't even need 660/1600 setup, you could use a dual rail setup with 850s and get great drivability. We where going to go with this setup on my car but the manifold was already on it's way to the chromer.

I believe the Full Race manifold has or can have provisions in the runners for a dual fuel rail setup.

I'm sure you could have Dana build a manifold with provisions for the dual rail as well, it would obviously just need to be specified at the time of order.

As for the M800/820 handling 12 injectors, as Wes said, it can you just need the M 880 10/12 EN function enabled. Specify this at the time of order and you're ready to drive 12 injectors be it two sets of stock 550s, 2 sets of 1600s or a set of 720s and a set of 1000s.

mine is installed and running great.. Darins startup map was perfect. only thing that had to be adjusted is idle. everything else was dead-on.. still have to clean up some wiring but i cant wait to turn the boost up and make some real power.. thanks again to Darin..

    Hi guys.

THought I bump this thread with some Motec information.

Version 3.41 software is out. Takes care of a software bug that motec intruduced in 3.3v. IE Using Ign Outputs as Aux outputs with aux tables assigned to them when using an IEX/CDI-8.

    New in this version.
Motec now directly supports the newest Bosch LSU 4.9 wideband sensor.

    1. can the Motec use the supra tt stock knock sensors?
I never heard that the knock or temp were optional until the release of the Motec pnp for the supra from titan.
basically want it for safety reasons Texas heat pump gas
2.also how many maps can you have on the motec?
read something about a switch you can install and switch between 4 different maps.
    thanks

I have 11 maps in mine that was calibrated in 2.5 pound steps from 19 to 44 psi which takes an Innovative turbo with 100 n2o all the way to 1115 hp on c-16

for all of those that think this is a rediculous price, it actually is a great deal for motec or any real stand alone. this saves you at least $1000 for the custom harness you would have to make, even if it was you building it yourself. if i could only wish i had a plug and play harness for my civic at the time when i got my m400. even for the m400 it cost me over $4500 when all said and done. and most the wiring i did myself.

ok back on topic now, i am finally getting into my dream car when i was a kid, a 97sc300. if i were to do the 2jzgte swap instead of the na-t, would this be plug and play also? are there any wiring differences from the sc300s chassis harness versus supras?
