Took out the Barrett M82 CQ this weekend for some fun. The range i went to only had a 100yard range but i decided to do some controlled shots and also some rapid fire shots to explore the our limitations combined. I was quite impressed actually. All the talk about how the M82 is not "accurate" had me worried. I do personally think that the shorter 20" barrel provides maybe better accuracy due to its shorter stiffer barrel and less resonance or vibration as the barrel recoils in and out. It definitely does not have the velocity to make 1000-1200+ yard shots but i think for the 0-800 yard i prefer it to the M82a1. The chrome line chamber and barrel are also a nice plus
I fired ten shots controlled slowly about ten to fifteen seconds apart prone off the bipod at a 100yards. The ammo used was from www.50BMGsupply.com which was non-match AP reloads. Again i was quite impressed. I had about 1.5MOA of vertical spread but close to or less than 1MOA of lateral spread on the shots. I have no doubts that with match or better quality ammo it would be even tighter. I have previously chronod the AP reloads from 50bmgsupply.com and they chronoed ok at best, there were about 30-40ft/sec deviations from shot to shot.
Here is the pic from the controlled shot target:
Then i decided to do (2) five shot strings rapid fired from prone position . My goal of the rapid fire was shooting at least one shot every second and seeing how my groups end up or what kind of target i can narrow my shots at a 100yards. Looking at the counter during editing it shows that five shots were fired right at 4 seconds. This is the first time i had shot the 50 in a rapid fire setting so did it in two 5 shots groups with 5 min wait in between. Here is the pic of the target of the rapid fire prone :
Then to end the day with a bang my buddy asked me if i would dump a magazine with the M82 off shoulder. I thought about it for a second and said why notSo here is the video:

Soooo...... I have acquired a fair amount of shit in my possession, and I need to get rid of some things. Have a couple things I need to pay up on, plus some builds I'd like to get started.
Had this for a while, now I need to get rid of it.
It's a Sig 22 adapter for the 220's. PO gave it the equinox treatment, but kinda fucked it up. You can see where the rear slide serrations were grinded a little too much, and they aren't straight. I started to fill it in with strips of grip-tape, but didn't finish. An enterprising person could fill in the rest with grip tape and you'd never know. Or you can just say fuck-it and shoot it how it is, and take pictures of the other side to impress people with.
I've never shot it, as I was supposed to get a 220 frame too but my buddy is dragging his ass on that. I just don't have the time to mess with it, and honestly don't even have the desire anymore. I've got a bunch of other projects to do that I'd much rather have the cash for.
I'm looking for what I have in it - $275 and a couple bucks for shipping with one mag and the Sig case and what-not.
Pics:
Last pic shows the fuck-up, and where I patched one of the serrations with skate-tape.

CZ40B:
Looks dead on like that one, only it's never been shot. Sat around waiting for me to do something with it. I wanted to convert it to SAO, install Heinies, and bobtail the frame. Would have been a super pimp carry gun. Feels much like a 1911 (Colt contracted CZ to make it), only it's got CZ 75 guts, an alloy frame, and a shorter barrel. Cheapest .40 1911 you will find that runs. $400, and we will discuss shipping (I'm working on getting free/cheap shipping again since I left my old digs). 1 mag (10 rd'r), box, etc. These are no longer made, and aren't easily sourced.

Selling this for a friend becuase he sucks at the internets. It's in my care, so I'll be handling everything and he's just hoping that I feel nice enough to give him his monies:
It's a Charles Daly ZDA. Otherwise known as a Zastava CZ99. Honestly don't know much about it; He's had it over and shot it with me a couple times. Kinda neat gun, feels just like a Sig 226, only it's completely ambidextrious. The "decocker" not only decocks the gun, but also serves as the slide release. Also has some trippy little nub that sticks out of the grip which slightly pokes you when the magazine is nearly empty. Kinda cool. He wants $450 for it. Comes with 2 or 3 10rd mags, and a 15. I'll have to look around to be sure, as he apparently left it somewhere in my pile of gun shit and I don't know where it's at right now.
Also will have a '75B duotone that I will probably be getting rid of, but I gotta convert it over to SAO and put it back together first. Might add a Jim Miossi Gunworks '75SA to that list as well.....
Likely not interested in trades, unless you have CZ's (Stainless or 75SA's, or a 452 varmint), 700's, Dillons, or hot wives/GF's who are down to get down.

Saman, that was sweet!![]()
I swear I've seen that post about the Equinox fuck up before...you post on OT WMD?
Thats some pimptastic cardboard Saman![]()
Alpha.
JESUS that is a gun and a half...
Now- i just posted this in OT having not realized there's a whole other hobbies section but I have questions for you guys.
Going shooting with a friend in a couple weeks and I need to buy some ammo. I need to know what I'm looking at and what I'm looking for. I don't know brands well enough to know if I'm looking at crap or quality or even what the impact of good/cheap ammo would be.
What I know:
I'll be shooting a Beretta .32 auto and a Springfield XD .40
Brian (guns' owner) says the XD doesn't care what it shoots.
He also says the .32 is fairly laid back as well but to stick to name brands rather than imports or generics.
Shooting FMJ is considered polite when using other peoples' guns and FN is apparently a lighter round mostly for paper targets.
What I don't know:
What are reputable brands for ammo?
What does the grain count signify and what is the tangible impact of a 180 vs a 155 (two common .40s I've seen)?
We're just doing target shooting in a wooded area, will FN make a difference or should I stick with standard ammo?
What is FN ammo? But yeah, go to Wal Mart... good luck finding ammo.![]()
For target and plinking, cheap ammo is just fine.
Winchester (white box)
Blazer brass
Anything FMJ should be somewhat cheap, those two brands can be found at wal-mart.
FN = flat nose and I was told that it tends to be lighter ammo.
Dinner- you're the second that recommended Winchester White box- I'll look into it that and the blazer ammo. Thanks again.
Yes because that is all you need to know. They only sell Blazer and Winchester. And 40 and 32acp are the two rounds that are always on the shelf at Walmarts now-a-days. Dont waste your time worry about "grain" and what not, that shit dont matter when your shooting paper...get what you can get cause there is a ammo shortage. As everyone else in here will tell you...GO TO WALMART!
Your Welcome!

Always on the shelf? Ha!
Must be nice to FIND ammo, especially at Wal-Mart prices.
The Walmarts here are always empty.

Just ordered the The Art of the Tactical Carbine II. One day damnit, I will take this class!
You just have to know when to go. Typically when they bring out the pallets of items to restock the shelves(hello 10:30pm). Just ask for help and you can grab them right off the pallet. Usually they are always gone cause people now get them right off the pallet before they hit the shelf. Here in SD, 2-3 boxes of 32acp and 40 cal seem to always be on the shelf.
