So I bought myself a Springfield 1911 (loaded model) in black stainless and an asshole thief stole it off the porch of my FFL. Fortunately the police caught the dumb fuck and recovered the gun. I Hope he enjoys the felony charge the seemingly nonchalant package brought him.

    Merry Christmas!

Remember, the diameter of the inside of the barrel (or bullet, if you prefer) is caliber, so the bullet can be small, and have a HUGE ASS casing necked down to the right caliber. Which is what the .223 is, a necked down cartridge. Lotsa powder, little ass bullet flys fast, far & straight.

    Thanks. Those rounds pretty expensive?

Last stupid question: Any good websites to check out for beginners? You know to get familiar with parts/ammo nomenclature?

Ever heard of the .408 Cheytac? Looking at the results I think the .408 is more powerful than the .50 BMG due to the Cheytac being a VERY hot round traveling at 3200 fps compared to the .50 at 2800 fps.

408 Cheytac You are straight ballin if you have one of those. That round is super expensive to shoot. Close to 4 dollars per shot!! Then again, the 338 Lapua Magnum is not that much better either at around 3.30 per round. At least the 338 there is a lot of good products out there for reloading, can't say the same for the Cheytac. At least you know you can shoot out to 2000 meters with it and still be acurate.

Fuck it, just get a .50 BMG, it's bigger and cheaper to shoot.

.408 Cheytac comes with GPS unit to help calculate shots.

You actually have to account for the curvature of the earth when making the long distance shots from it.

I recommend registering at AR15.com and browsing all the gazillion forums. There are many general weapon forums there also, not just AR15s. Lots of stickied threads with gobs of info. You can spend all month browsing there.

Yeah, no doubt. I own a USAS-12 shotgun as well. It is one of only 2 weapons on the BATF Destructive Device banned list. I luckily took ownership before the ban was in effect.

The Governator would personally escort me to the CA border and kick me out.

Hahaha! You have a South African Street Sweeper...so awesome.

Our esteemed Chancellor would probably love to own one of those too.

I think my shoulder just whimpered

That .408 is quite interesting... They make a single shot bolt action

Wonder how much ammo prices are?

[ninja edit] Wiki claims $5 a shot for 419gr

I always thought they were full auto... but cool nonetheless.

This one is a dealer sample, which to my understanding means no civilian will EVER own that particular gun.

Can you get one with a class III?

And what is the other banned one?

Actually, the Rhodesian DAO-12 "Street Sweeper" is the other BATF banned weapon:

This is my Daewoo USAS-12, which is even more evil :

They were available in semi and full-auto. Steven Seagal uses a full-auto model in "On Higher Ground" when he is blowing up shit on the offshore oil rig.

Bastard selling it didn't know anything about his own guns then... typical

Well, what about legalities on a semi?

I mean, you can buy a Saiga-12... do they not have detachable magazines for 12ga ?

And where do you buy those badass clear 12ga shells? Every time I ask someone at the gun stores around here they laugh at me

Both the semi and auto models are banned. Only a Class 3 dealer can acquire one. Even then, I think he has more red tape to go through. Machine guns aren't banned, but my USAS-12 is. Go figure.

The BATF says my gun has "no sporting purpose". They need to see me shoot trap at my friend's range.

I bought mine from a guy who didn't know what is was. I paid $200. I have seen them sell for $4000.

Zylo, how close do you live to Columbus? My girlfriend is from there, and her redneck family always wants me to come out and shoot with them. We need to hook up.

Excellent choice. Love my Beretta. When you can, swap out the plastic components for some steel ones off the older models. Much more durable. Enjoy the 92, it won't let you down!
