hopefully the stock backplate aint a bitch to get off. I never really paid attention to it, but Im sure I gotta unscrew a big nut per say once I take the the adjustable stock part off?
The plate is held in place by the castle nut, which locks the whole stock/buffer assembly to the receiver. As you unscrew the castle nut and loosen the assembly, be careful that the safety selector spring and detent don't go flying across the room.

So my day yesterday was the shit, and I'm going to share it with you guys because I'm still feeling rather good about myself (and there is pertinent gun info).

First, my school payed me a little north of $2k in leftover scholarship/grant monies that I had acquired for this semester. I knew I was getting some $$ back, but wasn't quite expecting that much. The state of Ky decided in the last week to bless me with another grant because I am a CS student, and have a GPA > 3.5. Woe is you who have to pay lots of cash for school. I've said it before, but I've been to three different schools, and have had them all paid for one way or another. There is so much money out there (at least in KY anyways), that I don't understand how you could possibly bitch about "not being able to pay for it".

Anyways, this means that there will probably be more cool gun related purchases in the future, and is a bit of foreshadowing. I'm really eying a Dillon setup so that I can start reloaded pistol rds.

I also ended up snagging two new CZ's yesterday as well, for mega-steals.

First, what $325 shipped can get you:

CZ 75 SA. Also came with five (5!) hi cap magazines, and a Blade-Tech holster. I like the updated frame/safety of the SA over the other '75s, and this gun is going to become my new production class blaster. I plan on swapping out the guts of my two-tone Angus gun in here, converting it to DA/SA, thus being class legal. Might have a SA converted duo-tone '75 for sale here in a bit if anyone is looking for such.

Skip to later in the night, where I decided to go out to celebrate. Ended up finding my friend at our favorite bar, who was having his B-day party. So free drinks for me all night I drink more Bourbons than is probably healthy, and head back to the house with old girl. She's kinda drunk too, and starts propositioning me for teh sexy time. I don't want to have sexy time with her at the moment, as I need to hit up the internet and check on some things. This of course doesn't bode well with her, but I'm drunk, and by god I decide when sexy time will occur.

So in my inbox is a message from another CZ guy I deal with, asking me if I want to buy a gun from him. Well fuck; I'm drunk and just got paid (I usually stay away from the computer when I'm drinking, because of things like this. Drunk Midway orders are usually my forte). So anyways.... I'm weak and ended up with this too:

CZ PCR. Worked over by Angus, his hammer, grips, trigger, sights, etc. Will be tough to dethrone my Kahrs as carry guns of choice, but I'll give it a fair shot. Oh... and it only cost me $450. Bow to me and my bargaining prowess.

So yeah, I am a happy camper, and now have new shit to play with.

CZ = SexZ Love the PCR. That indeed would make a great CCW gun!

Fact Check for the gun noob- that CZ 75 you just got- is that a 9mm or a .40?
and 325 shipped looks like a pretty damn fine deal...

Would that be something you guys would recommend as an intro gun for the gun noob? I'm thinking something like that would make for a good playtime/home defense gun for cheap and still give me a decent starting place for my collection.
Am I way off base on that?

    All pictured are 9mm.

I'm a admitted CZ slut, so obviously I might be biased in my choice. Dan's got some standard reply he has created to answer such questions....

The jist of it is; Yeah, the CZ's are good. So are a lot of other brands. Handguns are pretty personal, as so much of whether or not you will like a particular model revolves around how well they fit your hand, and how they point for you. Shoot all that you can, and buy the one that fits you best.

For me, the CZ's just "work" the best. Before CZ's, I was a Sig guy. I also still have a thing for HP's and 1911's. You just kinda have to actually shoot a couple before you can figure it out for yourself.

So far all the handguns I've fired have been springfield and glock. I didn't like the glocks as much as the springfields but I haven't gotten to fire a CZ or sig yet... I'll have to experiment.

    You think that's news? :P
I grew up in farm country and the first time I fired a gun was about 3 months ago... I'm almost 27.

I've got a LOT to learn. And I plan on learning plenty before I plunk down money.

Don't forget to set some aside for a rainy day whenever you come into "found money." Car down payments, furniture purchases, investment accounts... You'll want to fund all of these some day. At your (assumed) age, the power of compounding is your best friend.

    Certainly.

I'm fortunate enough to have worked hard in my youth and was able to put myself in a position where I currently live with a very low number of bills to pay. Other than gun stuff (which I do splurge on occasionally, as it's largely my only hobby) , I live rather modestly and certainly don't mean to portray any different. Most of my income is earmarked for purposes that will hopefully garner more income in the future, and I'm not one to live a flashy lifestyle that would jeopardize such.

Excellent advice though, and something that I think many/most could probably stand to be reminded of from time to time.

Anyone know of possible deals on Dillon presses?
Or all just selling for normal retail?

I have a .45 Sig 220 Two tone with surefire light for sale
The light is brand new and activated by putting your hand on the weapon. I think the retail on the light alone is 230.00. I will sell the gun with one magazine, and the light for 650 Plus shipping.

I would just stalk out the normal forums. Dillons usually go pretty quick, especially if they have the popular conversion kits with it. A good used price on any of the prices are about 80% of the cost of new. But if you want new, order from BrianEnos.com. I pretty much buy all my Dillon conversion kits, dies and little parts from them.

That is the wrong kind of attitude. You could(should) purchase a variety of nice guns for 20k

I gotta give it up to Denny's guns for great service.
I ordered the Tango Down rails and MIAD and I got the Magpul XT rails instead. I emailed him and got no response so I was like WTF?

I just called him and said I got the wrong ones, and what to do. I said if I was returning them Id like to change to the XTM's actually instead of the Tango downs.
So he is sending out the XTM's and an upgraded extractor kit right now to make up the difference in credit and said whatever to sending the Magpul's back. Whenever I got to it no stress.

Great response rather then making me send them back first and then fiddling with shit.

I was very happy with that.

Yup. Denny's/GTS is one of the few AR15 vendors I use.

I still have an old 16" Norinco SKS. I haven't fired it in years. Just not as fun/accurate as my other rifles...

My favorite is one of my 14.5" mid-length AR15 builds (now have 2). I prefer the mid-length gas system to the carbine system. This rifle sees the most use. Hasn't given me any trouble at all, and is the best balanced out of the 5 that I own...

Hey guys, I have a pic request. I want to see some safe pics. I am trying to decide about buying a safe but my parents are "planning" an addition with a vault door in the basement. I dont have space in my house for a nice safe but who knows when/if their addition will ever be done. I was thinking about a small 10 gun size for my house but between my father and I we have ~50 modern guns that should all be in a safe.

Let me see some safe pics
