That XD 9 V10 is going to be LOUD. Double up on the hearing protection. It will shoot like a .22 caliber pistol.

I've always love the v10 XD models. Damn near bought one myself back in the day. That's a pretty rare gun you've got there. Enjoy it.

Yep, same gun. The paint has been updated since that picture was taken (as you can see). He put it up for sale and it was one of those "love at the first sight" affairs for me.

    Sweet gun ZZ!

So I was a little bit depressed on inauguration day and decided that the only way I'd be able to stomach watching it that night was to clean some guns or something while doing so. But then I got the idea that I'd take it a step further and go ahead and rip an easy recipe out of the "FYRARMS DIY at Home With Your Gun Cookbook" and came up with this. What's the verdict?

    Recipe is here-> http://www.ar15armory.com/forums/Pai...&mode=threaded

What kind of paint was used? Was it the same on both jobs? Did you like the quality of the paint? Just curious as I am toying with the idea of painting my rifle.

    Not sure about the paint.
I cant comment on the quality of paint yet because the rifle will only arrive on Friday. The seller said that the rifle was painted professionaly, so i assume the quality is good. I'll report back when i get it.

Okay. So my gun comes home February 6th. I have the cable lock, and I bought a trigger lock so I am able to lock it up and keep it safe. However, in the extremely unlikely event that I need my gun, I am going to want and/or need it to be ready to rock asap. I don't want to have to look for, then fumble with keys, then unlock, then remove the cable, yadda yadda yadda, you get the idea.

So my idea was a safe. I don't need a big one, but something like the ones below or maybe just an electronic, non-gun specific personal safe.

Where do you keep your go-to weapon? How do you keep it safely locked away, and yet able to get to it without having to solve for pi or do the Rubix cube?

I have a bedside gun vault. Easy to program and works great. I would recommend the slightly larger one.

Do you the exact Gun Vault brand like the one that I linked to above, or something similar? If so, how do you like it?

I think it looks great. I personally hate most of the crudely-drawn branded images on AR lowers (deers, rattlesnakes, etc), but I think the highlighted S&W logo looks very good.

    Nice work.

    Hi guys,
Hopefully i can get a little help here.

I'm looking for the best site that i can order SIG P225 Magazines from. They can even be used, i'll replace the springs, I just don't want promags! I'd prefer new ones, but i'll take what i can get.

Unless you are looking for a mag to practice malfunction drills with (which isn't always a bad thing to have), stay away.

ProMag = Shit, in pretty much everything they do. Factory mags, or MecGar (brand depending) is the only way I'd roll for pistol mags.

It's a crapshoot with the ProMags. I have a couple of the 30 rounders for my XD9. One works, the other one will always FTE on the last round, the other works perfectly. For range use, they might be fine. But for home/ carry, I would stick with factory originals.

    "Orlite" or "Armalite"?

Orlite = "Nah". Plastic mags made in Israel. I had some that worked well in my RRA and Colt, but they sucked in my Bushmaster and all of my home-builds. I sold them all and replaced them with good aluminum USGI mags.

Armalite = "Yeah". I don't think they make their own 5.56mm AR15 mags, but the ones they sell are probably USGI quality and made by any of the major manufacturers. They do make their own 7.62mm AR10 mags, however.

As opposed to the factory Glock 33 rd G18 mag that you can find for $33?

Never seen anyone run anything but factory mags in glocks. Probably a reason behind that, part of which probably is the fact that you can find used factory mags quite cheap.
