    Andrew,

Why so big for just 10's ?
That MDF is gonna weigh some lbs. !!!

You are gonna lose all response with that cover on it BTW.
Cut out a large oval encompassing both speakers and cover the
    "cover" with a breathable fabric.

    ^^

I'd go with an idea like this. maybe use some maconite and cover it with black carpet. something similar to this (my trunk)

After the first drive with the MDF it is noticable how much it weighs down the car. My first interest was to do fiberglass but I have never done it so I went old school. The box is spec for the subs which I agree seems large but once I got them in last night it does sound really good.

I'll drive it more today before I go any further. I may need an alternative solution.

Brian, I'll let you know. Maybe we can brainstorm some new ideas.

    That box must weight 100+lbs!!!

I want to do subs, but I am putting a 20lbs weight cap on the sub box.

As the picture shows, I run a similar setup. This is my first setup i have, it works but I'm probably gonna go fiberglass soon. To save weight, you can see that the four pieces of mdf are mounted straight to the subbox. No extra support needed.

Hmmmm. Maybe I'll make some revisions. I also thought of cutting out holes to lighten the MDF. I would guess it weighs about 70 pounds. If I cut the holes and cover it it may lighten quite a bit.

If I knew how to do fiberglass I would try it.

I'm gonna rip out my mdf box in the supra pretty soon, once i start tearing it apart anyway... and do a full fiberglass setup... got pretty good with fiberglass over the past few months, confident enough to try a box in the supra at least.. my main concern is leaving room for the top to still go back in, the mdf box I built for the car still allows me to put the top in the trunk

Teach me how to do the fiberglass. That would have been my first choice. I took into consideration the top but then I realized I never took it off anyways so screw it.

Have you done anything to the Supra since I last saw you?

    Drew,
That thing is huge, with no room for your Targa Top. Rear seat delete like I did to mine, sorry no pics as of yet...

most 10's require .65 cubic feet, your box looks huge, which subs are you using? Nice start, now mount the spare tire on the roof, hahaha.
