I have both a aemotive A1000 and a weldon pump, I have not decided which to use right now, but I do not know where I would mount either.
Guys that are running external pumps, where are you putting them?
I was thinking of putting the A100+filter in between the fuel tank and the rear diff support. There is a small beam there that I could build a bracket into, but that is just a thought.

hey do you mind sharing some of the details to your single pump install? wiring? just one line going to rail or did you split it further down? Also did you just tap the bottom of your gas tank and mount it there?
I welded in a 1/2" SS pickup tube to the pump cover, then welded on a -10AN fitting to the top of the cover. I need to extend my tube a little bit, the second my gas light goes on.....I AM OUT OF GAS!!!!
I run a -6AN line(will be -10AN later this week) which then splits to a duel feed rail. I then use the stock return line. My -6AN will become my return. I will also be swapping out the A1000 for a weldon pump. I have maxed out my A1000. With the A1000 I used the stock wiring. With the Weldon I will set up a relay and pull power directly from the battery.

It's a clean install. I just think it's a little too close to the exhaust.
I like this, makes it so i don't have to sump the tank. Does it have any problem picking up the fuel on first start? or when the fuel is running low? I know Aeromotive says not to run the pump dry.Originally Posted by SuperRunner

I would have recommend to have a mount that hangs. (See below) I have a friend that mounted his to the body and it is SOOO freaking loud in the car! Mine is loud on the outside but quite inside
Basically I have a SS bar made that mounts from the sway bar (bottom bolt) It comes down them goes across, then goes back up the other sway bar bottom bolt. It has a plate with rubber mounts in the middle for the Aeromotive Eliminator pump to mount to.

Edit: Since I didn't look at the last post, I will edit this. I would recommend to have some rubber mounts on the pump to body to reduce noise. You will thank me.

I have a 3 second prime, so it works out OK, and it isn't far from the tank. I think if it was near the engine, that would be a problem.
I would be more worried about the gas tank. It is much closer and made of plastic.
Also, on the MKIV, you can't really mount it on the subframe like you can on the MKIII. There is not enough room because of the sway bar. It ALMOST clears it but not quite.
Yes it is ULTRA loud, but I had to get it mounted fast. I was going to mounted it with rubber isolators later. I will be making a bracket for my Weldon since it can't be mounted like the A1000. Maybe I can find a different spot since it is slightly different design. Still about the same size though.

That isn't a good spot for an Aeromotive pump. It is mounted too high and the life expectancy will be shortened along with possibly creating vapor lock issues in warmer weather/stuck in traffic conditions. It needs to be mounted similar to the picture Duane posted to live a long, happy life. The $$$ Weldon isn't so picky but is even louder that the Aeromotive. It sounds like a starter motor is running, bouncing around in the trunk when it is on 12v.
I have 2 of my customers MK4's running Aeromotive pumps mounted on the subframe. There is room, you just need to be a bit more creative making the bracket to clear the sway bar and make sure it is thick enough to guard against a Torsen explosion.

Well, I removed the A1000 last night. I will probably mount the Weldon in the same place, and yes, Weldons are self priming, and I don't believe require fuel for cooling. I used it to drain 10 gallons of fuel out of my tank though, man that thing pumps a lot of gas, and it is a lower pitch than the A1000. My bracket is using rubber isolators. I have to re-do my pickup tube. I thought it was 1/2" ID, it is only 3/8".
I myself tigwelded a base for the A1000 I have and mounted it along the rear most part of the passenger frame rail. U wanna mount the pump below the fuel cell/gas tank and close to it as possible. There is a misunderstanding that the A1000 sucks the fuel from the tank. Wrong The pump dosen't suck it just pumps the fuel, so allow gravity to take place and don't burn your 400 dollar pump up in a few minutes time! I will post pics of my setup soon

Do you have a filter AFTER the pump along witt the filter u have BEFORE the pump??? Also, did you mount it below the tank? I wouldn't have the pump hovering over the exhaust system either. you have a weldon, why are you worried about how to mount the a1000? and not how to mount the superior weldon pump?
this is old I have now switched to a weldon, but I have it mounted in the same place.
I will be going back to the A1000 though in the next few weeks after I dyno the supra on the E85.(reason I got the weldon).
I think I will re-mounted it under the passenger side rear seat. There is a nice hole there that I think will fit the pump nicely.

I realize now why that spot wasn't immediately obvious to me when I was looking under the car -- my craptastic old school cat-back had a giant "resonator" (like 2x the size of the actual muffler) that was covering that entire area. Once I swapped over to the BL 4", I saw the light.I mounted mine in the rear, you can't really see it here but it is obviously in the spot where the hoses are headed.
In any case, I decided to stick with an in-tank solution for now which I think is going to get the job done for me. This is of course after ordering all the parts to do a Weldon setup which will serve as decoration on a shelf for the time being.
We mounted our customers' Weldons underneath the rear passenger side.
Used rubber isolation pads as well in conjuction with the controller.
Most of the pics in this thread is gone, please post more pics of external pump set-ups cos this is my next task.
