well, Ive actually been going to CMI's back in 1998-2001 and drag race my Mercedes-Benz 190E and a MKII Supra. Ive been to a couple of qualifiying matches, specially those Jackpot rounds.

anywayz, the reason that I say its "ghetto" is that I think theres nothing much of a change over at Sac Raceway. well the last time Ive been there is back in 2005, and until now all I hear from people is that the track sux coz of no track prep. I think its been like that ever since.. hehehe.

one memorable day at CMI is that when they had a Winter Warm Up. it drizzled so bad in the morning that the race almost got cancelled. we got there at 7am and never got to race around 11am. we (the racers/competitors) had to drive up and down the 1320 so that we could get the water out of the track

its like we're having a NASCAR event, turning a 1/4 mile track into an oval track. coz we had o drive all the way down the 1320, turn around at the end and back. until the track dries up.

    man.. those were the days.

    aite, peace.

Yeah track prep is crappy but when you run 14's what does it matter? j/k Hoefully we will not have the rain though, it should be a good day, nice and cool too.

    peace got crushed!

do you mean street stock? I don't see anything for street tuner. I think her car would be ok for sport rwd. anyhow good luck at the race. btw, it's not an import but that seems to be ok since neither are cobalts or neons. I'll see if I can find out how fast the class is.

yeh bro, maybe once I get 'em wheels and tires installed, also when I get a new windshield then I should probably put that 60 trim and borrow your SAFC. and I'll probably get a custom IC hardpipe kit pretty soon and I'm getting my old (never used) Aeromotive AFPR by next week. hope I could get everything ready before SILV.

oh and BTW.. I got pulled over yesterday for my "modified exhaust".. lolz. 4" FTW!!!

hahaha You beat me to it! Crappy organization, sat 1-1/2 hours before making the first run. Turned class into a bracket race on the fly. Big disappointment. Only ran twice in 7 hours. Red lighted on 2nd pass and that was it. Vegas racing had better be fun damn it!

wait for Sac to switch over to Saturday daytime TNT. It's from like 12-4 or something like that. Nice cool weather and usually pretty decent track prep. The summer months tend to be not too great. You can usually get all the runs you want too.

That shit is weak!!! Its my first time at CMI and its going to be my last. The put all RWD and AWD cars in bracket class! They aren't allowed to compete in the other classes. So we have this lil meeting with all the quick and fast 8 racers before the event started to see if they will allow me to run in the quick 8. The races said ok that's cool let him run. Then the other people not racing complain I'm in quick 8. So now they don't know which class to put me in. However it was ok for me to run quick 8 but since people started crying they put all the other supras in bracket class, which any and all cars can enter. I did bring up some issues during the meeting to the event coordinator. Issues such as the ever growing AWD cars and other rwd imports. But they coordinator still said he geared the event toward fwd manual trans imports. And the rest of the imports are all secondary. He said if he were to make another class like unlimited (where any imports can run), he would have to cancel a current class and that would put a financial damper in the event. So it doesn't look like there will be any classes added to accompany rwd and awd cars.

And as far as my car today, well, I broke a nitrous nozzle on the 1st qualifying run so I didn't even get the chance to run the car. I have all kinds of spare parts for the car but yes I broke the one part that I don't carry a spare. LOL!!! Who would have ever thought the nozzle would have just broken off randomly. Go figure. I did a cool burnout though!!!
