    HKS SSQ vs Tial BOV

Car is getting some revamping done.. I need to change BOV's, my old one is aparently faulty. (Thank's John haha).

I will be going DBB BL67mm .. I wondered your thoughts on BOV's.. I actually kinda dig the sound of the HKS but I thought I heard that it wasn't good for higher boost applications. I will be running 110 @ around 27-28psi or so.

    Thoughts?

Id just bite the bullet and go with TiaL. There performance is great and there cheap and WELL made also. However, you will not have the typical BOV sound

^ Any reason for your selection? The HKS SSQ sounds pretty sick on some cars. Anyone have any clips of the tial?

Just compare the construction of both of them.... The HKS SSQV valves don't work too well when trying to push over 30psi

I chose it purely for performance and reliability. All function > form. Good luck!

HKS SSQV is a smaller valve and cant vent huge ammounts of air. I dont know the limit on it though, but I would assume a 67 @ 27-28 psi would be really close if not exceeding it.

I cant watch the videos at work but the Tial 50mm does not sound like surge. If it does then yours is setup wrong. It should sound just like air.

This videos all had a surge sound. I have a tial 50mm and it sounds nothing like that.

The best flowing BOV is a quiet BOV, the sound is the restriction. The Tial has a nice clean air release I'm sure at 35psi they make some sound though.
    Out of the game!!

I thought the same... lots of flutter in those videos which isnt right... not good for the turbo. It sounds great I admit, but not the way I'll have my car set up...

i was referring to the sound of the bov in the video, not a tial in general

The HKS functions differently than most. It has a pull type valve when it opens so it can't be forced open under high pressure. With that being said my HKS crapped out on me and i'm in the market for a traditional style BOV.
Does the Tial have a push style valve similar to the Apexi and Greddy units? Anybody Know?

I personally think Tial's sound as exciting as a nun working at a strip club.

I'm pretty sure the Tial is a push type because it uses different springs.

I had the HKS when I was on stock twins and loved it, but I switched to Tial when I went single. The deciding factor was that people were running just one Tial bov and other people with the same turbo needed to use two HKS bovs.

Buying a BOV for sound is retarded!

    Get a BOV that works...

    Get the Tial!

I think your right on that. I was reviewing the design and theres no way it could be a pull type. I loved my HKS BOV also but it just stopped working one day. Not the quality I expected from HKS.
