Been carp fishing a lot lately again, landed 7 on sunday in 3 hours and 3 yesterday with 1 lost. biggest was just shy of 24 pounds. Nice fish guys!
Thanks for the tips. Basically I can cast out over a narrow part of the lake/pond so I'm hitting the other shore there it is shaded and there are trees hanging over the water then coming back across to my side. I'm going to try some worms tonight. But I'm also going to try to be out there at like 7:30 on saturday morning. Because I'm always fishing between 11:00am and dark

I did catch a very little bass last night it was maybe 4 inches long haha but it was on a worm. The bad thing with the worms is it's hard to get it out far enough. Do you guys use a weight? Where do you put it?
I'm jealous man that's sweet. I heard you don't even have to go out that far in the keys to get into deep water. We had to go out 50-60 miles out off jax to get into 175+ foot of waterHere are some pics of the boat and house in the Keys.

it's hard to catch decent size bass from shore... you scare them away... gotta sneak up on them
but if i was casting worms from shore i'd put a small split shot at the top of my leader depending on the conditions (weeds)
175' is about 2.5 to 3 miles 750-1000+' 15 miles
How do you scare them away. I would think a boat would scare them off more so than me standing on the shore.
That's crazy you've got to save a ton of money on gas. Me and the g/f ( soon to be wife ) have been talking about moving somewhere else. Whether its the keys or over the the gulf somewhere like panama city beach or something.

I caught this big flathead 4weeks ago in a South Bosque 7miles from where I live. I caught him using a SWORD I shit you not. There were 5other flatheads they weighed over 20lbs with him also! There is a concrete spillway and they were all living under it. The water had stopped flowing in and they were trapped. They were out from under it because they were running out of air in the water. It was only 3ft deep. I stabed him earlier using a wooden stick w/ 2 screws poking out but he ripped himself off. 10hrs later I finally hit him again w/ my friends sword and nailed him. I jumped in and grabbed him by the head and walked him out. He was good eating for sure lots of meat on him. I guess he weighed 35lbs, I used a scale you weighed yourself on so not to accurate. I weighed myself w/ and w/o the fish to get the weight. The fate of the other 5 fish are unknown now, I know one other cat is dead I found him floating. The pressure was on to catch him. A group of 4 was trying to get into my shit when they saw what I was doing. He was the biggest fish out of the 6.
Yeah I made some adjustments to this pic to me me extra cool. My friend who helped me catch him and spotted the 6fish.

Hooking a minnow through the mouth, and even using bows and gafs to catch carp is hardly the same as stabbing a fish in the back with an old nail filled plank and coming back 10 hours later to finish it off with a sword.

oh come on. people shoot fish like carp and gar which are trash fish just to kill them and throw their bodies back in the back half alive. how is that different from me bud? in some states its even legal to foul hook fish you can catch dude. a fish is a fish so dont ever use one for bait then it your gonna bitch. hope you dont use hooks w/ barbs on them cause it rips their lips up. how would you like it if some ripped your shit up, same arguement. there are much worse things to worry about then me stabbing a catfish that was going to die due to lack of oxygen and stress by now and eating it. I would of killed the fish the 1st time i gaffed him if he wasnt so powerful, he broke a 150lb test trot line we had set up allready. Would of saved me 10hrs.
