    oil pump help

any one changed an oil pump on a mkiv tt? i had a shop in jax fla install cam gears and they stripped my timing tension pulley bolt which threads into the oil pump. its very soft aluminum and a heli coil did not hold so im just replacing it.im just curious how big of a job and if the oil pan has to be dropped. if so can it be dropped with the engine still bolted down? i have a new stock oil pump in my hands and it appears it wont slide off the crank with out the pan out of the way. any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks

You will have to drop the front crossmember and lift the motor to remove the oil pan, Takes about 2 days.
    good luck
