Greetings all:


I decided to start a thread where we all can get to know each other as automotive enthusiasts. Many of us here, sadly, shy away from posting or mentioning where we come from. Please feel free to post even if your english is not perfect we all here started somewhere.


Well..let me first introduce myself. My name is Fawaz and I am from Kuwait living currently in the united states. I will be moving back home with my wife and daughter after finishing my PhD next year. I wanted to get to know people who share my hobby in the gulf. There are very few of us around who like modifying cars to race them. I felt it was essential for us to get to know each other and introduce what we do in that area. Some of us know how to tune, build engines, install...etc. Some of us just like fast cars.



I really dont know many people from the gulf here. I know a couple that I keep in touch with, but more is better of course. We can ALL benefit from this. We can learn about new shops in the area or racers or different set ups. Show us what you have and what you like to do to it. So please...let us know more about you.

Atif here. Pakistani origin but I was born in Abudhabi and lived all my life in the ME region. Mostly Dubai, Abudhabi, Jeddah, Riyadh and Muscat.

1994 6pd T88 blown motor. Currently under the knife with a T74 turbonetics setup.

Inshallah will be visiting Abudhabi and Dubai again in September.

By the way, I'm currently in Columbia, Missouri but moving to Lawton, Oklahoma in june. Lawton is an hr away Oklahoma city and 3 hrs away from Dallas. I'll be hitting up dallas a lot due to halal meet and paki grocery stuff.

So guys, where do you buy your car parts from in the Middle east region?

Your best bet is shipping from the US. Which is expensive but nothing is cheap with a hobby like that. I mean according to Yousef there are competitive engine builders in Kuwait at least. I am positive there are some good ones in UAE also, but you would need feedback from a supra owner there maybe.

I think any installation, piping, boost controllers and minor stuff you can find anywhere. For the high end stuff I would just ship it to there.

Faisal would have more feedback since he built his whole car from ground up in Kuwait. We might have to wait for a while till he revisits here though. He does not post frequently.


The three of us are from Kuwait and our knowledge about shops in KSA or UAE would be a bit limited.

Yousef...maybe you can help here...

My next mods will be weight savings...I just feel bad taking off my stock seats since they are redone with new leather and all. But yeah they will go with the rears. The car smells new inside and I kinda like it since it has new headliner and carpets. Dont mind the crappy floor mats I am protecting the new Supra ones underneath lol.

I am either buying one at home and building it or buy a built one from here and sneak it inside the country with some connections.
