I'm loving that P290.. but for a single-stack 9mm, I really wish they could have made it thinner than .9" (especially with the 1.1" including the slide lever). The Ruger LCP is .82" and no slide lever.. I want to see a 9mm that thin.

You may want to see it, but you certainly wouldn't want to shoot it.

That's already TINY for a 9mm, if you need smaller .380 is the way to go.

Well it is basically 0.9". The slide catch is irrelevant in the overall thinness of the gun, imho. It is still a tiny gun. I actually wish they made the barrel a little longer like 3.2". Length is never a problem with CCW guns, it is always height and thickness. They could make it 6" long and still conceals just as easily as long as the other dimensions are unchanged.

It is still hard to beat the Walther PPS. You get the same 0.9" thinness, single stack and a much better trigger than DAO. The "glock like" trigger is much better than the long and heavy DAO type triggers of H&K and SIG. This gun is just a little smaller than the PPS. I think anything smaller you are just giving up too much in terms of ballistics. The 9mm doesnt with a 2.9" barrel is about 50ft/sec slower than a 3.3" barrel which is already at the lower threshold of what i would prefer.

tooofick: There was a brief discussion somewhere in this section about it. Something about comparing it to the FiveseveN.

    Kel-Tec Bullpup Shotgun

    Quote Originally Posted by Kel-Tec

The KSG is our first entry into the shotgun market. The size, shape and design are similar to the currently available Kel-Tec RFB rifle, but the KSG ejects downward, instead of forward. The KSG weighs 6.9lbs and is as compact as legally possible with a 26.1" overall length and an 18.5" cylinder bore barrel. Even with this compact size, the internal dual tube magazines hold an impressive 14 rounds of 12 gage 2-3/4" rounds (7 per tube). The simple and reliable pump action feeds from either the left or right tube. The feed side is manually selected by a lever located behind the trigger guard. The lever can be positioned in the center detent in order to easily clear the chamber without feeding another round from either magazine. A cross bolt style safety blocks the sear, and the pump release lever is located in front of the trigger guard.

The pump includes an under Picatinny rail for the mounting of a forward grip, or a light or laser. The included top Picatinny sight rail will accept many types of optics or iron sights. Forward and rear sling loops are built in, and a basic sling is included. The soft rubber butt pad helps to tame recoil.

MSRP has not been officially been set, but we are looking at the $800.00 range.

Keltec makes some ugly ass guns (sub-2000,su-16,etc), but the KSG and RFB look awesome.

That 229 e2 looks pretty good, did you get it new for that price, and if so where? Seems like a pretty good deal to me.

I don't even care what it costs down there... If it ever makes it to Kanada it'll be $1300+ and our dollar is pretty much on par with yours, its some bullshit... If it becomes legal for import I might even go through the papers to get one shipped up here. However, they usually prohib the bullpup design.

JoeC: That price is practically a steal. You'll have to give us a range report when you get a chance.

Wonder what made Sig change the slide from the 229 shape to the traditional 226/228 shape.

With the KSG, seems like you can take advantage of the twin tubes and load with two different ammo - slugs in one tube, birdshot in the other or whatever combination your defenses require.

Owner requests! Especially from us big-handed types. Hard to rack the slide with your finger tips. The traditional-style serrations let you grab the slide like a man.

JoeC, that is a great price! Unfortunately, the E2 mags are not usable in a non-E2 gun. You can run hi-cap standard P226 and P228 9mm mags in your E2, but they will be a little loose and rattle-prone in the magwell. They will work fine, though.

Me, too! Of course, having big hands, I don't like the E2 slender grip. Personally, my perfect Sig + grip + trigger combo is my P220R with Hogue rosewood grips and Sig short trigger. I have big hands and long fingers, so I pull triggers with my first finger joint instead of with the pad of my fingertip (unlike many shooters). The P220R fits me like a glove---longer grip but narrow, similar to a 1911 grip. With the Sig short trigger installed, the gun just fits my hand like a leather Isotoner glove.
