It's Back!! SP Built A340E Toyota Transmission w/ UPGRADED 2nd Gear Sprag

SP Re-Released Built Auto A340E Transmission

This is the transmission that started it all!! Originally found in SP01 and Marko's infamous white Supra, the Built Toyota Transmission was the pioneer for drag racing and street cars in the early Supra years. Due to the number of inquiries we have received regarding this product, the Original Built Auto Toyota Trans is now Officially Re-Released!!!

The single reason that we have decided to bring back the Toyota-based transmission is our new UPGRADED 2nd Gear Sprag (which is the well known weak point of the factory trans).

    Transmission Specs:
    • Replace low, intermediate, and overdrive sprags regardless of condition or mileage
    • Custom-made UPGRADED 2nd gear sprag (known to be the culprit for ALL Toyo trannies) with high-energy friction material
    • Upgraded Billet Aluminum 6061 Forward Apply Piston
    • Alto clutches, koleen steels, additional clutches added over stock number of clutches
    • New upgraded Lexus pump
    • Deep Lexus pan for added capacity
    • Modified valve body and trans case including machining for O-rings (instead of using the paper gasket which has been known to fail under higher pressure)
    • Tranny is 100% disassembled, every part inspected and measured
    • Valve body modified for line pressure changes
    • Bushing kit replacing ALL bushings
    • File a small angle on the pump body crescent
    • New Hi-flow filter
    • Buff drums
    • Upgrade spacer plate and accumulator springs with custom replacements
    • Flush and check all solenoids
    • Reassemble and pressure check engagement of every gear

    Trans Cooler:
An upgraded trans cooler is HIGHLY recommended but not included. There are too many variables depending on where the user wants to install the cooler and the space available. I will likely determine a stock location upgraded but for the time being, a cooler will be left up to the customer to determine. We can supply any specific trans cooler requested.
    Torque Converter:
No Torque Converter is included with the transmission, the price includes the trans uprade only. We offer our SP Converter which is specifically designed and built for the Supra Turbo. Your SP Converter is custom built and tailored for your particular setup based on your goals and modifications. Even if you do not purchase our Torque Converter with your SP Auto Trans, it is highly recommended that you replace/rebuild your converter to prevent premature failure.
    Pricing:
    • SP Built Auto A340E/A341E Transmission $3399
    • SP Torque Converter (built to customer application specs) $999
    • Package Price inc. SP Transmission & SP Converter $4299

Note: We HIGHLY recommend using an engine management system that can monitor and control trans line pressure such as the ProEFI or AEM v2. Systems such as the AEM v1, Motec, and Haltech just to name a few, do NOT have the ability to control this transmission properly.

This is not just an upgrade. It is an upgrade and a complete rebuild to new specs. Taking orders now!!

I thought about you when I was putting this together Bob. Larry has been working with our trans builder regarding the upgraded 2nd gear sprag. This is the single part that truly sets this apart from the rest. The stock sprag is what ALWAYS breaks regardless of whatever slight tweaks or modifications are made to them. Now Vanessa has a cost effective trans option!!

Mmmmmm... Beefy SP trans, 3600 stall, and a PT6265 w/QSV would make one bad-assed and durable street combo!

We have our own converter builder. He specializes in turbo vehicles and has done so for many high HP cars including a number of V8 turbos.

Larry will have to comment on this one for you. Nothing is indestructable though! We redesigned the transmission to be absolutely as strong as possible.

Holy crap man. Ok, i'll definitely have to send one of my cores in.

When should we be expecting some results to come out and further clarification on other members' questions above?

Reid how much WHP you think the new tranny will hold with the new updates and upgrades?

If you don't know maybe a whp guest estimate will be fine.... Maybe you haven't tested to it limits yet...

Another question is this trans ability to hold power vs a 4L80E built by you guys or Rossler with a stand alone trans controller. Just thinking outside the box with all my auto trans issues I have had. I hve a built auto now (yes a competitor) but it seems to be holding my power fine but does not shift worth a carp but I think that is due to the AEM v2. Hope to be headed your guys way sometime this year for a ProEfi/Flexfuel system and better trans control. Still considering a 4L80E and not worrying about the trans again through.
    Thanks!
