Battlefield 3 reviews have started going live on a number of sites, and you might be wondering where ours is. In fact, I know some of you are because you've already pestered me about it. Don't worry! The review's on its way, folks.

Basically, the reviews you saw go live this morning were based on a three-day review event that writers were invited to. Destructoid recently adopted a policy of not attending such events for a number of reasons beneficial to editorial (it was an informal rule for almost two years before we decided to officiate it). For the record, we weren't invited to this one, but since we've refused to write reviews based on events for Call of Duty, RAGE and many others in the past, it wouldn't have mattered.

Review copies for the console versions arrived today and I am downloading the PC version as I type. The PC version unlocks at midnight tonight. I am hoping to get it all played by tomorrow afternoon, though it may go through to Wednesday if I don't feel I've played enough. Depends on how much there is to do.

So that's where we are with the review, and why we're not being lazy when you see other reviews go up in the meantime (reviews that were written anywhere up to several weeks ago!)

So did anyone Pre-Order it from GameStop or Amazon?

I was originally just going to get it at Best Buy or something since Rei was saying finding a Limited Edition copy should not be an issue, but then I got interested after seeing a commercial for the GameStop pre-order exclusive weapon pack. I also checked on Amazon, and apparently they have a special pack too, but they don't go into detail about what you actually get in the pack (weapon wise).

I remember a long time ago when I played MAG on the PS3, the people who got the special pre-order bonus had a clear advantage over those who did not.

What are you talking about? Amazon is only getting exclusive multiplayer dog tags and a set of eight different character skins.

Also the Physical Warfare Pack that gamestop is giving away is a timed release so everyone will get it later on.

Never mind, I misread the Amazon listing.

When I read, "Pre-order Battlefield 3 - Limited Edition and receive the Amazon exclusive Dog Tag Pack for multiplayer use as well as the Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand expansion pack for free. The expansion includes four legendary maps from Battlefield 2 boldly re-imagined in the Frostbite 2 engine, as well as Battlefield 2 weapons, vehicles, and unique rewards"

I thought they meant weapons from BF2 will come with the Dog Tack Pack. But apparently it must mean the weapons come with the Back to Karkand pack.

I preordered at gamestop. All of their preorders were the LE, and comes with the warfare pack and the karkand shit.

224mb update already...gay, bigger than the original report of only 164. Got a mandatory install also, hopefully by than the online servers will be up

Games a bit buggy on the story mission like the last part of Swordbreak or whatever...Also on hard you get snipped from nowhere and the AI is dumb as fuck. Its not even an AI its a routine robot.

Also why the fuck is this battlelog thing here if it won't let me sign in? It literally says, "Your account is not allowed to login." WTF is that shit? Guess I got to make a new one or something.

Ok I must be dumb as fuck but this fucking game won't let me play online, and there isn't an option anywhere for me to enter my bullshit online pass. WTF?

Honestly this whole online pass bullshit makes me not want to ever buy an ea game that i must play online ever again. I pay $60 for this game and I gotta jump through hoops just to get it to allow me to play multiplayer? FFS.

Basically "Himanshu" told me I'm fucked and must wait like 24hrs for it to work again. Ugh, you seem to find a way to fuck everything up EA. A LOT of people are having this problem, and I hope out of all you guys I am the only one that has to mess with this shit.

I didn't get my ME3 dog tags, fucking EA.

Also Some of the maps are crazy fucking awesome...and looks like the controls of the jet on the console is very simple compared to the chopper. Done with the game for today will be on later to slaughter.
