No but the flying in BF3 isn't that good. PC I understand since get a full map + 64 people in the game. However on a console the maps have been re-sized and you have lesser players. Console maps only support up to MAX 4 Choppers and 4 Planes at the same time.
So yeah it can be lonely up in the sky most of the time.
Not only that the controls for the planes suck. When you play something like AC series which is a flagship arcade fighter on a console with control schemes that just makes sense (Like how the COD Tactical layout makes sense) it just flat out sucks.

PC is also limited to 2 heli's and 2 jets at at a time, but with aa guns, and engineers w/ heatseakers, you wouldnt want anymore to gang up on you or it woudlnt be fair.
The controls for the planes and helis are remarkably easy if coming from an RC plane with ailerons, or a 3d heli, or FSX on an Xbox controller. Same layout (except for rudder) to something IRL that lots of people have trained on.
After you get used to it, it gets easier to use guns than missiles against those with stealth perks, etc..
I figured out a little cheat to get started with the jet you can try: Canals map, land the F-18 on RU runway, turn it on their fighter and/or attack heli and use it as a tank. You can jump out and shoot them for 9 sec also.. Worth a try before they catch on..
FWIW these Screens look awfully compressed compared to real gameplay on a Geforce 570..

I can't fly for shit so I didn't bother. I enjoy land vehicles though if they're available.
I was the one who mentioned the lack of ammo packs from Support players. I play on the PC.I don't get it maybe it's just a console thing but everything you guys have been bitching about I havn't seen on the PC at all. There are always ammo packs everywhere for the most part people are grouped up in TDM when they need to be and overall people don't suck. Most of the top 3 players are above 2.0 kdr and the other players far behind in a decreasing order of course
Try playing some Rush or Conquest. Even when you are rolling with other Support players, they rarely do anything productive. I swear 99% of the noobs in this game either pick Support/Recon.

I have no idea why a lot of people play Recon when it can be a very hard class to play. Should really call that class SUPPORT since most of the time they sit in the back spotting people and laying down beacons of whatever.
But nope they usually sit in the back doing NOTHING to help your team.

What I hate the most is these faggots who are supposed to be doing recon never fucking spot anyone when they can't even kill the person they are targeting anyways. Dumb bastards.
I practically never play recon and probably hit the spot button more often than I pull the trigger, people don't get how useful it is...
If i can't see where the guy is I will randomly hit the spot button every tenth of a second while scanning the area. I think one of the things I hate the most about this game are the people that play it. I usually end up talking with one person (if that) on the entire team and everyone else stays silent, or doesn't have a mic. It almost gets to the point where I don't want to play the game cause it's really frustrating to go game after game after game with a bunch of retards who don't help in any way towards the objective at all.

Ok I know I'm a little late but I just got the MAV the other day and I now realise why people fly them around and annoy the shit out of everyone. I find it hilarious bugging a sniper and then landing on him (killing him) when he gives up trying to kill me.

I wish people would spotlight. I spotlight everything, planes, helicopters, whatever...even if I have a guy in my sights I know I'm about to kill (you never know if you'll randomly die). Not sure if people are being greedy or just plain stupid. No one drops ammo...wtf? Even if I find a guy and spotlight him for ammo...nothing...
The helicopter controls suck. Why the hell did they have to change so dramatically from BC2?
The sound of getting killed by a sniper is annoying, what was the point of adding that?
I miss the UAV consoles. You're telling me I have to replace my rocket launcher for a UAV? Yeah, no thanks.
Like the guy above, I miss the medic class and assualt classes from BC2 and I don't like giving up the health pack for a grenade launcher. The grenade launcher was really helpful with clearing out a bunch of campers and for smoke but health is better for the team, overall.
BF3 is team based game and it does get frustrating when your team or squad is crap.

Wow. Finally got this game installed and working correctly. It just kept giving me a general "game encountered an error, please reinstall game" message when I tried to load it up. Fucking dumbass DICE/EA dipshits apparently require IE9 to be installed for their server browser to work. Who the fuck has used IE in the last fucking decade? Idiots could have at least put a check in the install to prompt the user to install it.. I had to fucking fumble around for over an hour to get this thing up and running.
So I just played that "OTHER" game today and wow it felt like complete shit imho. Maybe I am so used to BF but the maps are so damn small and you get killed extremely fast. All the guns sound the same for some reason and have no recoil compared to BF. I felt like I was mindlessly running around just trying to get kills for the killstreaks which is all the game is about pretty much.
..Back to BF3!

That's why I stick to PC for all FPS. GoldenEye64 was the only console FPS I played consistently. A little analog stick (or two) just doesn't give you enough freedom of motion as a mouse & keyboard. Consoles are better for fighting, racing, and sports games. Shooters, RTS, & RPGs belong on a PC.
RPGs are good on both.
RTS and TD like games are better on the PC.
IMO Shooters are good on both systems. I have Borderlands on the PC and PS3 and I enjoy it on both. But the console versions are IMO much MUCH headache/troublesome free. In recent times I can remember quite a few games that released on both consoles and PC where the console version had you jump over less horse shit to actually play.
Aside from the mouse/keyboard controls, dedicated servers & their communities are the reason I like PC over consoles for FPS. A well-run dedicated server is always up, always populated with people you get to know, and always moderated by people who don't tolerate cheats & douchebags. Console may be more secure, but there's no one there to remove troublesome players. People go for the objectives or they're removed. Good luck getting everyone on a rush map on a console to actually rush the objective - there are always players too concerned about their K/D ratio and other personal stats to complete objectives.
I agree with everything you said. The only thing I don't like is when the community is dying for a particular game. Finding matches for BFBC2 on the PC kind of sucked.
My biggest issue with PC gaming is the hassle of actually getting to the point of playing it. Mass Effect I have to go in and fix the audio, BioShock has some wonky ass mouse issues that needs to be fixed, RAGE didn't load textures, Origins for BF3 can suck a dick, etc etc.
