I will vouch for the SB as I have no issues or problems for the past 3yrs. Stg 3 775lb PP. I have since been on 500+ whp and no problems (93pump, 700+ C16). One main factor I choose this clutch over others is due to pedal feel, ~25-30% over stock and the traffic areas I encounter around NYC. My buddy has one as well. Ofcourse a good install can eliminate alot of error. Good customer support as well, if needed.
I have the same clutch. Amazing Engagement slips easily and holds up to 775lb it's all about the install my mechanic is really good so no issues. No Crankwalk Fears for me because it's somewhat close to stock pedal feel.

Drove my Supra a lot last week. No issues and quite smooth. Pedal is amazing. I will say that there is a slight chirping on low rpm take-offs. It wants to chatter slightly. But I really never got my car up to hot driving. Just putzing around town. It is so much better than the RPS CC I had.

I use the Tilton Triple and the last few times I drove the car before tearing my car apart I had a chirping sound on low rpm take-offs as well. Never figured out why it was making that sound. Car is still apart so can't say if the chirping sound is gone or not.

Is this just a matter of quick/harsh clutch engagement transferring to the wheels, or is the noise just a quirk of the clutch?

Neither really. No noise, more like a small amount of grabness. But for a soft pedal and holding 700+ something has to be stiff~!

Hey Reid@SP is there any way I can get this spec clutch you offer for a r154 and 1jz flywheel? I think the only difference is the splines iirc...

Pulling the trigger on this unit after killing my current clutch today, what does everyone recommend replacing while in there? The CM kit is the pressure plate, TO bearing and disc. My Flywheel is almost new and I was going to surface and balance the entire assembly if needed. I plan to do my rear main seal as well while back there. What else is good to tackle while dropping the trans and what not???

Pressure wash the under car crap. Polish exhaust piping. Re-torque misc bolts, check condition of the shifter linkage and washers. ha..ha... Other than that, I would replace the FW bolts as well. You using a DMF?

I installed this clutch last weekend and after adjusting the clutch play, can honestly say the SP clutchmasters clutch has a truly streetable feel. The clutch stiffness if that of the stock clutch and it makes me want to drive the supra even more!

Will post back with feedback once i get more miles on it. also, do what stu stated, change the flywheel bolts for sure, and if your trans mount is old/bad shape, you can replace that while you're under the car.

I've been delaying what is turning out to be the inevitable. I've just been waiting for more feedback/reviews on this clutch before locking in, but I'd say I'm about ready to order one of these up as well.

FirstState, personally, other stuff I'll likely be doing while it's apart is all new install hardware, re-surface FW, new rear-main, new fluids, TRD mount, AP bushings...just to give you a few thoughts.

SP Clutch Masters and new OEM flywheel installed yesterday. First impression on the pedal feel is that it's almost too light, almost put my foot through the floor. I was using a RPS stage 3 which liked to chatter alot. There is virtually no chatter now. The only issues are the engagement (it's more switch like) and the release is alot lower now. Hopefully, during the break in period it will become more slipable.

I had the same problem with almost putting the pedal through the floor (I am coming from an HPF Feramic clutch w/ ACT pp). I bled the clutch and adjusted the pedal play and it's perfect right now.

Clutch Master's clutch broken in now. The on/off engagement is now gone and the clutch is quite slipable. The release is also just right now. I've done a few autobahn pulls and the car hooks. Happy with the results so far.

I've had my SP CM ever since black friday sales and will be one of the very few running the sprung design with a weighted RPS Cnergy flywheel! The install starts next week, and i shall update everyone else!

Nothing out of the ordinary. Here are a few pics of when I installed it:

also, I have about 300 miles on the clutch as of now. Have not boosted it past 5psi, just doing alot of stop and go driving to help get it broken in properly. Absolutely LOVE this clutch. no clutch rattle at idle, smooth engagement, stock pressure.
