    Range Bags?

Serena has a pimp Dillon Blue Press deluxe range bag. When we went shooting tonight, I became intensely jealous of it as the convenience, the protection provided to the equipment... everything. It's badass and if I'm gonna be shooting regularly, I really want one.

What do you guys use as far as range bags, pistol rugs, etc?

MidwayUSA bargain bags. They may not look ultra-fancy, but they're tough, have a shitload of pockets and room, and get the job done. They just had a sale this weekend.. $40 for their Full-size Competition range bag, $43 for their Pro Series AR15 46" bag, 6x rifle socks for $21, zippered gun rugs for $5, and single pistol bags with 7x magazine pouches for $8. I already had these items, but I'd buy them again if I needed more.

Never heard of them but this looks like a good bag for the money. Anybody have more thoughts?

That's the exact bag I have. Love it. Beats the shit out of paying $100+ for virtually the same thing made by someone else.

I have one of the older Midway bags. It just stays in the car to hold all my other shooting accessories. The main bag I use now is a Eberlestock G3 Phantom. Or if I bring more then 1 rifle, I also use a Eagle HSRC, which doubles as a shooting mat. If I just shoot pistols, which is rare nowadays, I just use a Camelback backpack.

Actually ended up purchasing the compact midway bag as the reviews all said it would comfortably hold 3-4 pistols, earmuffs, specs, etc and a few hundred rounds of ammo. Sounded ideal for what I'm after. Also bought some gun rugs from them so everything looks right together five bucks for a decent pistol rug sounded pretty good to me.

Yep, I just ordered 5x more at $5 a piece on Sunday. Can't be beat for the price.

Looks like a decent crash bag, BTM but not much of a range bag. Doesn't look like it provides any padding and with pockets designed for a shaving kit and a flashlight, I just don't see it being all that great for a range bag. Now for a crash/bug-out bag... maybe pretty good.

Natchez is blowing out their Eagle inventory.

Probably one of the better manufacturers out there IMO. Most of the stuff was made in the USA, but they are outsourcing it to the Dominican Republic now. It's still good stuff from what I have seen. I can't complain about my HSRC that is made in the USA for 150 bucks. The stitching and overall construction blows away the Chinese made Midway and Voodoo Tactical bags that I have.

I guess it's whatever floats your boat and fits your needs. I always keep my pistols in bore-stores which pad themselves. I'm typically needing more space for ammo/eyes/ears/etc. Hell I've been using some Osprey bag I got for free for awhile now...it's literally just one big open pocket that I put a piece of masonite in the bottom to keep it rigid

hahahaha. nice. Whatever floats your boat for sure, man. I like the recommendation, just saying it's not what I was looking for. Looks like quality stuff.

    Got my bag from midway!
    http://www.midwayusa.com/browse/Brow...yString=655***

Got in olive drab because I'm impatient and the black ones are on back order. Here are some pics.... It's a good, solid-looking/feeling bag. Everything is doublestiched and the straps go the entire way around the bag, not just down four inches.

As an aside, they included a big-ass paper catalog with the bag. I am almost certain the catalog outweighs the actual bag. I wonder how much of the shipping cost is that gigantic catalog...

Damn that midway bag is nice!! I have the Uncle Mikes tactical gear bag, its a bit bigger than most bags, but when I go to the range, I take 3 pistols, two sets of headphones (I rarely go alone) and glasses along with a shitload of ammo. The uncle mikes bag swallows it up and cost me just over 40 bucks.

This bag should swallow most if not all of that and it was on sale for 30. I liked the Uncle Mike's one but when the midway was recommended above, it was too good a value to pass up. Also ordered three pistol rugs (planning ahead!) because they were 5 bucks a pop.
