It's a 1jz vvti just like in the pic going into a 01 Tacoma 2 wheel drive. My truck gross weight is 2700lbs. It had a 2rzfe manual but, I wanted a turbo and a auto tranny and money wise this was a better solution. A rebuild kit to the the 2rzfe to hold 12lbs is around 1200$ and a turbo kit 2000$ and machine work 600$. So I picked up the 1jz for 1800 the inter cooler and piping $200 the fan , trans cooler, couple of gauges, hoses , clamps, oil change, ect... 300$ all I got left is to finish the wiring , high pressure fuel pump, drive shaft shortened,3in exaught, oil pressure gauge, new rack and pinion (i want power steering back) so about 800$ and the 1j still would have more power

its jzx100 chaser we made it work for now but we have another problem the engine start to lean down after 3000+ ?!!! i did not separate power source for the injectors and the coils is that a problem ?? could it be a fuel cut?? i did not add more boost to it,do you have any ideas?? thank you

Power to the coils and injectors would not be a problem for the motor to run. For future diag watching the current it would just make things easier to find a misfire. 3k is right in the peak tq with low rpm, check to make sure the afm is not dirty. I pm'd you as well.

How lean? How are you monitoring the a.f ratio? Is all the OE toyota fuel controls hooked up?

Found the swap to have been sold with a GE ecu not a GTE. Its a wonder that it ran as well as it did.

^ I believe another member has done the 2jzgte vvti setup and just (if I remember right- ) wired the trans wiring to fool the ecu into thinking it was in 3rd gear to get around the auto stuff. Interesting how similiar the jzx110 (1j vvti) and the 2j vvti pinouts are on the JDM stuff.

I will try to find the thread about it.

I've heard about it as well. Some guys use an on/off switch wired to the NSS when cranking, then flip it off for normal driving.

since SF has provided me with alot of knowledge I would like to share this.....

heres the JZX100 wiring diagram from the russian manual....translated it using google translate...anybody would lend a helping hand?

and i used ur wiring guide to start my vvti....

it runs rich and doesnt want to go in boost...when i rev it, it marks the floor with black smoke....

looked at the diagram ensures that the exhaust sensor & solenoid has to be supplied with ign on the diagram #6 grey socket pin no 10&11

as i hooked the power for that wire, the car doesnt want to start....any ideas?

If it is loading up on fuel I would look into a boost leak first. Check to make sure the TPS range and voltages are correct, check to make sure the ECT (engine coolant temp sensor) condition and resistance at what ever given temp the engine is at. See if unplugging the maf sensor changes the condition.

I can do specific pinpoint tests and give you values for anything you want to check as well. Did you keep the diag port? If you have the eng lt wired you can check for codes as well to help find a starting point.

Try to see if those checks yield anything.
